Vinnie leaves Kiss - 30 years ago this week

Post by Genebaby »

On March 17 1984 Vinnie played his last show with Kiss in Evansville, Indiana at Roberts Stadium, which was demolished in 2013.

30 years ago Vinnie struck out on his own after a tumultuous two year stint with Kiss, behind the scenes and as a touring and recording member.

Initially let go after the conclusion of the European Lick It Up tour he was re-hired to complete the Can/Am leg of the tour and let go a second and final time after the March 17 show.

Unfortunately, the cookie has crumbled in such a way that we have Vinnie at war with his fans and the world in general, unwilling to get himself help for his obvious problems relating to people. Hence his fans do not have the kind of interaction that fans of Vinnie's guitar contemporaries, such as George Lynch or Steve Stevens, who successfully do things in the real world. Vinnie tries to launch t-shirts via Facebook and Youtube.

Kiss, on the other hand, despite what you think of the current line-up and Paul's abilities, may have wavered, but have been going from strength to strength and have just announced another tour, this time with Def Leppard, and will then do their fourth Kiss Kruise, of which yours truly will be aboard this year.

So who gets the last laugh? Living well is the best Revenge, so it would look like Vinnie has not come out on top, when he had the ability and talent to do so. Something else in his mind prevents him from completing successful business transactions, rather they go south quite quickly as word spreads that Vinnie is difficult to work with.

Two albums, an EP and a one track guitar solo disc are not enough Vinnie! For years we hear new music is coming, but so far it looks like 2014 is not going to be the year for that, again.

:(
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Very well said Vic.

I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.

He really was only in kiss 16 months and less if you consider he was only named as stand in on creatures tour. I guess close to 2 years if include the creatures recording work.

Wasted time, wasted talent.
