Burnin' Bridges

Post by ozone73 »

Recently I read somewhere (probably Wikipedia) that the song "Burnin' Bridges" by Slaughter was written about Vinnie Vincent. Has anyone else heard about this? I've been trying to find it on Wiki but I can't seem to remember where I saw it on there. I've always liked the song but since I read that it was supposidly written about Vinnie makes it that much more interesting. All the stuff I've been reading on here about him, then listening to the song makes me think that it could be true ... or a really strong coincidence. I also find it "odd" that in the liner notes for the "Stick It To Ya" cd there is a disclaimer.

The only time I saw slaughter live was opening for kiss and he introduced the song saying it was about a former kiss guitarist that you all know. Truth is pretty much no one knew who he was talking about and most people who liked slaughter when they first came out didn't know about vinnie .
I know that slaughter did say in kerrang it was about vinnie

Prissy prissyDon't you call meIf you miss meGotta leave youAnd get on with my lifeShootin' everybody downThinkin' you're so profoundYa never listenTo no one's adviceYou're a liar, liar, liarWith your pants on fireAlways going backOn your wordOver here over thereDo ya really carePlayin gamesLike I never heardIf I knew thenWhat I know now
Cause what ever you doIt comes back to youRight back to you babe, I'll tell yaBurnin' bridges fallin' downGot a nasty reputationFrom town to townBurnin' bridges fallin' downBurnin' bridges fallin' down on youMirror morror on the wayIt always tells youThat you are the best of allMaybe you're too blind to seeThat you're heading for a fall
Cruisin' downtown, Shakin' her love, Is that babe talkin' to me, Felt my heart drop, Women can't stop, Girl has got me on my knees, Baby baby babe don't make me wonder, Won't you let me in, She said - see you later, Shot down, I'll be back again

They are pretty correct with those lyrics. I never thought I would say that but the past year has confirmed my fears.
