THAT"S more like it PW!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

People forget how much spirit there was here in the good ole US-of-A back in the summer of 1976. It was very palpable. I remember the 4th of July parade was gigantic in my hometown and even the people watching were dressed up in the red, white and blue. There was a "carnival"...as there was every 4th of July...but that year it lasted an entire week leading up to the parade and the circus came to town during that week. I played little league baseball and they did national anthem before every game that summer. There were also little festivals and events throughout the summer. It was really something. I was only 6 years old, but the town really came together as a community that year and that summer.

That just doesn't exist this day and age.
Open your window and see the real world
To know what you've been missing
Come out of the shadows
Insecurity lies
In a heart afraid to listen

I always think of Myrtle Beach with my family when I was 4 years old during the Spirit of '76 and these songs always remind me of that time... awesome memories:

I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass and I'm all out of bubble gum.
