Trip to NYC... auditions for America's Got Talent

Post by PinkWiz »

Just got back from NYC for the America's Got Talent auditions. They really seemed to like us and told us not to leave after we auditioned and made sure they had all our contact info... so I'm hoping that's a good sign. The main judge said they would be in contact in two weeks and at the latest by April 1st. These auditions aren't like American Idol where you run out with your golden ticket 8) We played Bowie's Space Oddity and Peter Schilling's song Major Tom. Howard Stern will be a judge on the show this year so that's kinda cool. I'm usually not much for reality TV but my wife talked me into it so I said what the hell, why not?

Here's a pic of my twin brother and I busking in Times Square after the auditions... we made close to $100 in less than two hours so I was surprised...

That's totally cool. Both the audition and the successful busking. Thats some sweet tax free $$$ there!

Good luck in getting a call back. I would watch the show of you were on it.

P.S. What the hell are those boots???
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Thanx guys! The boots were modified by my brother... kind of an "industrial" Ace Frehley look. :)

I've often thought that if we did get on the show how I'd incorporate the VVFF... maybe a quick subliminal mention?

That´s so cool. You really look great.
It amazes me that you played Peter Schillings Mayor Tom. Is this song still popular in the U.S.?
Good luck guys!

I hate german talent shows because all the candidates have to be young, pretty and slim. It seems that it doesn´t matter if they can sing or not. Most of them even don´t play an instrument. This shows are only machines for making big money. A man like Paul Potts, who really has talent, would never have had a chance to sing in a german casting show. That´s too bad!

Thanx Vickie! Major Tom is rarely played on the radio here but is still referenced on VH1 and MTV sometimes. People here still light up when we start it like "I remember THAT tune" and sing along.

Even here in America an act like ours wouldn't work on a show like American Idol but America's Got Talent allows acts of all ages, sizes, themes, etc.
