Vinnie Vincent with Ozzy

Post by MeteoraXV »

So I was just feeling like watching the Ozzy Lightning Strikes video...love the riff
I scroll down to read some comments and I read this:

@lgwelsh1 what sucks though is Jake got a big head just like Vinnie Vincent and Zakk Wylde....Ozzy wanted Vinnie Vincent but his head was that far inflated and messed up. I dig doing your own thing but Jake cant write like Randy could...he had huge shoes to fill and ultimately couldnt do it,on the songwriting part i mean.Jake can play and thats what ruined him..

Is this true was Vinnie considered to be Ozzy's guitar player?? Maybe the guy is just saying stuff but it's interesting..

Very interesting! I'm not sure if this is true but it would've been cool to see Vinnie playing with Ozzy, he always had the best musicians playing with him. Though I'm not sure Vinnie would've been a good fit.

This is news to me too. Dana was involved with Ozzy and helped get him guitarists so I have wondered why he never played bass with Ozzy.

I wonder what Vnnie has to say about this.

I read the Rudy Sarzo book and there's no mention of it there.
A good book and full of lots of interesting stuff about the early Ozzy solo days with Randy (from when Rudy joined the band onward as well as Rudy's own story).
It's funny how Ozzy seemed to hate Brad Gillis for no reason at all and how he kept trying to find the next hotshot player so as to get rid of him.
