Re: Guitar World 1996
I'm not sure what they mean by 3/4 scale Jackson. His guitar wasn't miniature and his scale length would not have been super short, unless it's a typo for 24 and 3/4 scale, or 24.75, the Gibson scale length.

it was 25" i believe. Its listed on Tom Paleckis blog. Short scale for the pink one and medium scale for the later ones i believe.
Re: Guitar World 1996
woops the first one was 25.5 and the later ones were shorter scale 24.5
I like the shorter myself.
what is considered short scale in a guitar? In a bass its 30"

The usual scale lengths are: Gibson 24.75. PRS 25 Fender 25.5.
I'm not sure what short scale is, I don't think they go shorter than that usually. There are long scale guitars for playing low things, almost like a bass.

Re: Guitar World 1996
ok, thanks.
i am thinking basses. I just had a custom one ordered. The short scale is what I like in bass because you can move around more quickly and i also don't like the look of long necks for some reason. I also am playing in a 60s garage style band where I need more of a soft open sound with round wound strings.
