Took my money from my Vinnie Vincent refund and....
bought Ace Frehley tickets with it.
Front and center just like I would've had for Vinnie.

Nice, I've seen Ace a few times, I always see him when he is in Australia.

Good for you and I hope that he is on his game that night because you really never know what your going to get with him. If he is still touring with Gene's Band then he will have great backing. The last time I checked on him on You Tube was his performances from the Kiss Cruise which in my opinion his acoustic set with Kiss and Bruce Kulick was OK but his electric set with his band was GOD awful sloppy. I can't watch his shitty performances but when he is at his best he is OK. I must say that I usually thoroughly enjoy hearing him be interviewed as he really is an entertaining personality.strangeways wrote: ↑Wed Feb 20, 2019 8:18 am bought Ace Frehley tickets with it.

I once had a poor backstage experience with Ace. In the 80s and 90s, you really did not know what you were getting with him. However, he has had great breakaway characters. Todd Howarth alone is worth what he asks for and he has a great library of material.
Anyway, Ace is out there and doing it consistently. I also like the fact that he is doing some rare stuff as well. He's not a great player, but he is a decent act when you figure in his sound, personality and persona.

It sucks that there's not much of anything left to discuss with regards to Vinnie.
Not sure if we'll be talking about him at all soon.
So I will just say that of all KISS members, past and present, Ace is the only one I'd pay to go see anymore.
Like others on this forum already alluded to...Ace is not the most gifted guitarist, but he is usually charismatic as hell and I've always enjoyed seeing him perform live - with or without KISS.

This is Ace when he first started using Gene's band list year.

Lazy and sloppy though he can be, Ace is the only one with new material and actually doing anything. He is putting himself out there. Paul and Gene have disgraced themselves and Vinnie - to our great disappointment - will apparently do little more than enjoy what there is of his legacy /support, though there could be so much more.
I, too, hate to be on VV's pages talking about Ace and the two idiots touring. While our community here sits in disappointment.

I have seen Ace at least three different times and he's always fun.
It's been awhile and seeing as the opportunity presented itself I jumped on it.

Last time I saw him Ritchie Scarlet (aka the duke of rock and roll, yes he calls himself that) was with him. I would have rather he left Ed Roman's butt boy at home. YMMV.
