Carvin X100B

Post by Calxplorer »

My search for one of these bad boyz came to end....wanted the grey carpet series from the early 90s with hot rod tuners and boost. Although I can't say I'm displeased with this one given this was built just before those. This particular model is from 88' and it came with the original channel pedal. I'm sure you all can recognize and appreciate this beast

Still getting acquainted with it. Sounds nice and thick just the mids are a bit high for me.

Honestly, it's hard to tell. I'm still messing with the EQ adjustments. The cleans are just on another level, super bright and plenty of pop and I was using a Fender prior so that says a lot. It has the gain you just gotta get to where it's not lost in the bottom end, which is why I got it anyways to have a thick bottom and bright tones.

I still have my 1989 Carvin Catalog, which IMHO is one of the coolest ones they ever made. That was the year the carpet covered X-100B came out and a bunch of new guitars were launched, and they offered the OFR.

Does anyone know what happened to VV's black double neck? I know a silver one was sold at Julian's auction. OTOH he is holding the black one in the catalog which may actually be the same one pictured in the catalog page because they're both black with the 12 inline headstock. Maybe he never owned it.
