1983 SG Special

Found an '83 SG special in a flea market. It was battered,The finish was completely cracked, the original bridge was missing, one of the tuners lacked the cover.
Bought it for a very special price complete with 80's bulky original Case.
I restored the electronics, changed the output jack-it was eaten by rust- put a wraparound bridge, put a new tuner.
The guitar is very light, but it has tons of volume and great sustain. The pickups are Tim Shaw ones.
It was a nice surprise:)

ty!!!!
The luthier has suggested to not touch the finish and leave it as original as possible.
I was afraid that all the things happend to this poor guitar din't allow her to play good.
It feels and plays great.
The price was 299US dollars including case.

Yeah, leave it as is, she's a player as that's what you want.

Bargain! Congrats.
Not an SG fan but would happily own the 24 fret version with a Floyd Rose that came in 1990 ish.

thanks for the kind words,guys.
i was looking for an sg junior,or a well done copy, since has a very peculiar sound, but that one was a bargain,so i bought it.
technically, it is not a "proper" SG,and my idea was to change pu's, but it sounds so good that i'll leave it the way it is.

bought this one a while ago, another bargain.Light and plays really well.Couldn't afford an original sg Junior, and the combination of light body with stronng attack and ap 90 makes an interesting sound. MO's fault, though.
Also bought a Coron dc 802 pahser. This one is also unique since it is a phaser with a bit of univibe wooshy sound.
