Charvel Jake E Lee

Post by tukoztukoz »

:D :D
I've just got this beautiful guitar I've been lurking for a while! I heard they were going were going to make blue ones, but white is better I
Very light and simple guitar.

Thanks, I knew you would like it! ...Charvels, Charvels... No flames here, but an amazing pearl white color. It only weighs 3.25 kgs : no trem, no tone knob.

That's the kind of guitar you could have brought back to Australia : by removing the bolt-on screws, it all fits into your luggage, unlike those huge necktrough Jacksons VVV...
That Jake E Lee model is very close to a Strat. Great guitar, but something's wrong with the headstock painting : rosewood doesn't like paint or glue... I think I saw the same problem on another picture of a Jake model on the net. I think I'll have to cut that painting off (the part that's supposed to be glued on the rosewood part), because a small painting part went out today as I rubbed it with my hand... As I want to keep that guitar, I asked the online shop for a small discount, we'll see what happens

Ok, I've never heard of that issue and I didn't know Rosewood didn't like paint.

Ahhhhhh....no! It's a Jake model. Just get a So-Cal if you want a Floyded Charvel.

Bummer about the paint! A tad of Gorilla glue should fix it up!

Yes I'll try some superglue first, before cutting anything, that's wiser.

The guitar is nicely playable, but I think I will lower the action one of these days.

Just the fretboard part where the (plastic?) paint went off (see the pictures). My luthier said he can try to glue it, but there's no guarantee it'll last forever. He also says I better send back the guitar to the seller...
I'll hear what they propose me before returning it, because I feel this could cost me too much time and money...
Anyway, that's the risk I took at buying guitars online and abroad.
