New Axe...

Post by WAnkhor »

A bit of of line with the Vs, VVs and other 'shred' guitars I've seen on here, but I've always preferred the 'classic' curvy shape of a Les Paul... just like women but that's another story.

Anyways, I saw this bargain for sale online yesterday and had to have it.

It has a push-pull pot for the bridge pickup, a Dimarzio 'Tonezone' at the bridge and sperzel locking tuners as well as graphite saddles in the bridge.
I've always wanted a Les Paul with a Bigsby or licenced equivalent, and after 17 years I finally do! :D

An Epiphone licenced copy. Just had a friend over who jams with a well-known professional guitarist around twice a year (doesn't record under his real name and plays with a very well-known singer... and yes, there is a small VV connection!) to test it. He seems very impressed.

Ok, here goes... like I said, it's a 'slight' connection.

It's been well documented that VV's Jackson was originally Designed for a certain Randall William Charles Rhoades who played with Quiet Riot and a certain former lead vocalist of Black Sabbath.

Said vocalist has gone through several guitarists over the years. The one I'm referring to is his current guitarist.... done without name checking! I'm hoping the next time he drops by, the opportunity to get his verdict on the axe comes about!

Got it in one. But as I've said, the VV connection is extremely faint and is exactly as I've explained above... unless someone knows anything else.

Some of our members have more of a connection to VV by just sitting down for their morning shit.

I thought about Neil Young too when I saw this guitar. Here's a great concert I saw two years ago. The storm came just when he played "like a hurricane". Epic!
