I got myself half a dozen of these to put on the tips of my favorite pointy thingy.

Na, I tend to go with the myth that 'a fish grows proportional to it's surroundings'. Bigger the tank, bigger the fish. The bigger the cushion, the hard the pushin' :!:

& if your starting to get diminishing returns referring to the chubbier you get, THE SMALLER IT GETS, lets not forget the simple fact that it's not the size of your pencil that counts, it's the way you sign your name that really matters. :D

Someone already did modify a guitar into a double V :

I think I already saw this guitar on this forum - don't remember where - on sale at a cool price at the time

Ok Tukoz, I do remember this but I don't really count this one because the body dimensions are so far off and out of scale. Your creation is going to be much more to the correct scale. I respect what this guy did but the finished product looks awkward for my tastes and yours is much cooler and authentic to me. When you look at what this neck through guitar originally looked like (Yours) and what you have done to modify it it is nothing short of incredible.

I can't wait for you to finish this and I know that all of us would enjoy seeing and hearing it

Kev

That isn't even close to the TRUE harPOON guitar that will one day be built.

I hope you've got one or two woodpieces of Vinnie's fence to build that HarPOON guitar! Or maybe those Louis XVI furniture?

Nice Ibanez, Slayer!

While seeing Tom Palecki's great job on Wolfi's RR I got a bad idea : there's a Jackson US Kelly2 eerie to sell at 1000 $. It's really tempting to buy it, and then cut it and transform it into a VVV, with nice piecesof wood and a pro painting... Technically it would play the same as before...
I don't know... I used to find the Kelly shape ugly (and not deserving to be  ), but I begin to like it now. That would maybe cost too much money.
Think I better watch the pictures and ads only, and finish this thrashbin VV (I need some time to go on these days, too) ...
Wiser...

Yes, you're right... Enough butchering!

I'm wondering what brand of Matsumoku guitar is the guitar I used for this project. I would say a Westone, as I found that pic on the web:

Tukoz you may be the bravest guitar dude on the planet? " I think I'll buy the Jackson Kelly for a grand and then go get my chainsaw". Your shadow V is turning out cool so I'm not talking shit in any way. If anybody could do it I bet you could. Finish the current project and demo it for us first. Bring the current project home brutha!

Thanks for keeping me on the right track. Destroying guitar is an ugly act, even Paul shouldn't smash his PS40 and Kramer Striker  .

If I find a Jackson Kelly that's already been sawn, I'll get it... Well, I don't think that will happen, but who knows?

I tried my VV recently. It works fine. The neck is fine (too bad I'll have to paint it), pick-ups too. As the frets are low, E-strings don't slip out of the frets (narrow neck and a little bit too large locking nut). Tuners are ok.
There's only one problem I noticed, with the Floyd. I should have payed more attention when I did the two holes (to fix the Floyd), which are a little bit too close one to the other. I plan to fill one hole with resin/fiberglass, and do a new hole at the right place.

I've been thinking about the colors. At this time, grey and pink (both with flakes) seem the easiest choice. I also have a cousin that do gold leaves... Blue/black/pink, as the first AZG is nice too!

I will play something when the guitar Will be done, promised.

I'm still busy with the filler. The new hole with fiberglass is ok now.

I've had an idea about the fretboard inlays. It's not done yet, just the V Holes. Meredith sent me Susie the termite from Hell to do
the job

I still have some grey coats to do. I've just seen how pros do flake paint on youtube. Well, my technique is different and more simple... Less beautiful too.
Pink is just a try on tape. As My son saw that he said "those colors don't fit together"...
