How could that be a guitar for Dino with a green quilt top? A Dino Guitar would have a front that looked like the back of this guitar :-) LOL

Perry is a nice guy. I met him through the Jackson forum and spoke when I was having my GMW issues. He makes some nice stuff!

It plays pretty good after it was fixed in Oz but doesn't it? Plenty of bad Karma I guess even if it is ship shape now though!

We fixed it but we used a too thick fretboard so it really needs to be done again.

How did I not see this
Firstly the green one I agree is ugly but not in a beautiful way.
You guys are close with the brown but have not nailed it.
Brown paint with cream and orange di marzio pickups would work .

I would get a dark brown metal flake vv with light brown back and orange and cream or orange and brown or possibly orange and light blue diarzio style pick up covers. If I could get it brazilian rosewood board or better still paraguayan lapacho (same species as brazilian rosewood just grown over border) . I would love brazil rosewood body but maybe too expensive so would go for belize or honduran mahogany or some sort of walnut body. Maybe western curly maple neck .
OR I would have all guitar made from white korina.
Would love to have an Australian ironwood neck but no one has tried it. The hardest wood in world. Will never warp. Sounds good in drums so I see no reason it would not work in guitar neck. But heavy for sure.

Alder body on vv also maybe elegant.

I told a tj monster I wanted him to make a cheesburger colored vv guitar. Ketchup.. patty and bun mainly.
The padres were owned by macdonalds hence the cheeseburger look.

Its super rare. Baltimore browns existed for about one month and some merchandise was available.
The Cleveland browns are by far my favourite .. based on uniform that is. I couldnt tell you the name of any player. Players meen nothing anyway its uniforms that win you games. :D

Built by mastumoki, the vantage were great guitars wwith an elongated headstock.
A very similar model was issued by Matsumoku under the Westone brand.

Cool, I thought it looked familiar, great buy.

There's nothing wrong with a guitar that's brown due to the wood grain showing.

Ankh,
How many guitars do you have right now bro? You are correct in that Matsumoku made nice guitars in the 70's and 80's. I have a few myself marketed under the Aria Pro II Label

Ok. Kev knows me best I believe.
I like brown but not too much figuring. Brown paint, beige paint, gold paint, bronze paint, black with brown ok. Not into those expensive 6 string slab basses with lots of grain. Mahogany good top especial dark and reddish.
Italians in 60s knew their brown.

huh,my personal collection now is up to,huh,25 guitars, two basses and a 6 string banjo  .Those are the ones in working order.

The vantage apart for being in great condition, has great sustain unplugged. That was the criteria for keeping it.............

Check this one  :

it is a Rayhorn (Zerosettte, the name rayhorn was used for the export series),completely hollowbody, bolt on, great ,very dynamic pu's,nice twang bar(for this one twang bar is the appropriate term;)).

Found it in the flea market, the top was unglued on the lower side, and now i'm reparing it,tryng to preserve the finish at the same time,it sounds great.

................my latest flea market guitar find:
I found that Vantage Vs 600 a few years ago in a flea market too, for 130 US $. It has many marks and traces, but works fine. I'd like to put a trem on it (Bigsby or something that won't kill the guitar...).
Vantage guitars get a lot of positive comments on forums, as japanese guitars in general. I think I'm ready now to buy more japanese guitars...

some Matsumoku guitars were sold under different names, but ,yes, there are many great ones. The Vantage copy of the 335 sounds great.

There's some trem made for Les paul guitars that works fine and it doesn't require any major routing..........

I saw these on the internet (stetsbar and schaller). All I know about them is that their price is almost twice of what I paid for the guitar :(

The stetsbar seems to need 4 points, and the schaller only 2. Not sure.
