I missed out on one a couple of years ago just to have it for fun.

Not really related to anything they put inside a guitar, just a basic tube based preamp that has decent reviews for sounding good.

I have a Digitech Twin Tube which is in the same vein.

I've an old ADA MP-1 pre-amp that would probably blow it and most things still today out of the water!

But I play through a Boss GT5 all-in-one footpedal!!!

The MP-1 is good, it wouldn't blow this out of the water, or the Twin Tube, they are just really one trick ponies these days do guys like us use other things with more features.

I meant as a pure pre amp obviously! Though it has a built-in chorus that was touted at the time to be the best around.

I know, the tube preamp sound is the one trick of these units. I had the Twin Tube so didn't need the MP-1, just a better unit overall. I have a Digitech 2120 which is pretty cool but have been using POD's for years now.

I had the ADA as well as the KittyHawk Quattro. The Quatrro was my favourite but ADA was great. Sorry to say I loved the Jackson pre-amp. I didn't like its cheap looks but it was awesome.
