Thanks to ankh, 1031, double v and others (on another topic, "Fender and Gibson buy my dinner"), I got back to reality and forgot about buying that guitar with a glued-paper fingerboard... Also I learned about weight-relief guitars and the meaning of the words "made in USA"... Thank you VVFF!
Maybe I'll buy this model at a lower price, if I get the opportunity. There's no hurry.

ALWAYS wanted a Gibson. I have several Epihones, and they are VERY good indeed.
This is a 2011 Gold Top Studio with P90s. I call this model 'Terry' after Terrys All Gold (a brand of UK chocolates)

My next IS an Epiphone, a Cherry Sunburst. A nice guitar, and a decent sound. Weighs a fair bit though!

FINALLY, take this as a warning NEVER to buy a Tokai Chinese built guitar!
I ALWAYS wanted a vintage white ala Randy Rhoads or Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), and as I have 2 Japanese Tokais, thought this model would be in the same vein for style and class. Being a Chinese built guitar, WITH endorsements from Tokai UK, I was confident I'd got a great axe!
WRONG!!!!
True, it LOOKS the part but sounds awful. I have had it stripped and re-wired, had 2 Seymour Duncan Distortion PU's fitted, Ernie Ball 10's, and it STILL sounds awful.
My guitar shop have played it through several amps, and they are at a loss to explain why it sounds shit. I have 3 amps, and it DOES sound 'reasonable' through my Fenders Blues DeVille tube amp.....but Im guessing that's the amp that's helping out!

I found another offer, a little bit cheaper than the Budokan I saw in a music shop. I couldn't resist...
Here it is, with my 6-7 feet Gene I found in a bric a brac shop.
Bad picture done with a flash...
The guitar weights about 4.4 kgs, so I don't think there are too many holes inside of it. Beautiful wood

Oof, I've never posted a picture but I'm giving it a try haha. This is my brand new Epiphone LP Standard and I love her so much! She plays like a dream compared to my old LP 100 and Squier Tele.

Glad you like it. Does it have the thick round 50"s contour neck or the thinner flatter 60's style neck?
