It’s a US Jaguar ’62 Limited edition made in 2008, thin skin. I found it on the internet. The lady who sold the guitar never really played it, so the guitar is mint. It was funny to meet this lady again, because I already bought a harmonium (kind of piano, but you have to produce air with your feet…) from her, that was two years ago. I paid 1900 US dollars for the guitar, that’s a lot, but it is pink, so… - that’s what I told my wife and kids to justify my purchase…
Without Vinnie, I'm sure I would never have bought any pink guitar. He has rehabilitated that color I think!

Thank you for the nice welcome.
I really like Fenders, especially Jazzmasters, Jaguars and Stratocasters. A lot of guitar players that I've listened to over the years did play or still play Jaguars/Jazzmasters : Marc Ribot, Robert Smith, Blixa Bargeld (Nick Cave), Thurston Moore, and a lot of others. Those are not shredders, my tastes are eclectic, and it's the same about the guitars I like. I'll talk/ask about other guitars in others posts.
Now I think the reason why I bought this guitar is not only the color. Last month I saw Marc Ribot/Ceramic dogs and two other bands, and they all played on Jazzmasters/Jaguars. Strange noises coming out of those guitars, and a lot of switches...

Hi, you may enjoy the posts of fellow member Ankh. Look for his posts in our gear and also his music recordings which in some ways might be called eclectic? He is a very artistically talented member

My favorite guitar for years! My white Stratocaster! 86# Tele neck scalloped, mid 90s Fernandes body. I played over 1.200 shows with it! One day it burned, one day i smashed somebodys face with it, it drank beer whileI was playing on it... REAL Rock'n Roll!

Love road worn played guitars. Quite interesting seeing a telecaster neck on a strat. I have a telecaster with a strat neck.

This is my 1988 Fender strat standard US. I bought it new at the time, and I’m responsible for the terrible massacre I did with a saw and other machines around 1992-3. I covered then the body and the headstock with velvet fur cloth. That was ok, but it lost its colors after all those years. I played this guitar a lot, the frets got very used and I decided to replace them by myself two months ago… I’m not done yet, and I’ve understood why there are luthiers on earth…
It was interesting for me to install all these 8 switches (phase inv., parallel/series; phase mic…). I got a lot of different sounds with the Jeff Beck pickup and the three original Fender pickups…
I still love this guitar, even though it’s worthless by now

Holy crap, you really went to town on that guitar!

As long as it plays good for you is all that matters.

This weekends project is what we will call the Christmas Fat Strat. While this axe and its outfit may not be for everyone I'm seeing it!

Enjoy

Just discovered this lovely section.
I have 20+ guitars, all loved and cherished, some better than others, but heres some pics of my Fenders.
Admitedly, this stratocaster WOULD have looked better ala Lake Placid blue, but as its the same 'blue' as my beloved Chelsea Football Club, I can live with it. Its a Fresno, Ca model

Next we have a Mexican model that is a signature model of a guitarist I REALLY do like, Graham Coxon, who is VERY underrated indeed. His model has a Gibson humbucker, so Fender OBVIOUSLY can't steal a Gibson pu, and have put their version in instead. Its cleaner than a cats arse.

I'll post some others in the next few days. If you want any close-ups or spec details, I'll be happy to oblige.

I've been working on my "butchered" strat this summer. I changed frets, found some glitter paint (for the white on the pickguard too), put an LSR nut and cleaned every part of the poor guitar...
This is the result with my 2009 Jeff Beck strat.

Ya it was.. interesting guitar, tells the story of CBS Fender at that time. Serial dated 1975 but it was actually a 1976 body and neck , with 1971 pickups and a early 5 way switch. 5 ways were shipping on a few late 76 but was standard in 77. The fret slots were terrible that cause fret ends to pop all over, neck pocket was super loose. Just a horrible built guitar.

My old guitar teacher had a Strat that looked just like this one. It had a Kahler clone wangbar on it. He said the clear coat was carcinogenic if it was heated up?

Nah by the 70's it was all Poly .. It was spraying the nitro that was scary. Solvent based nitrocellulose evil stuff for the environment and the brain cells . Once it flashed off and dries no more harmful than celluloid "Film" Cig plastic and the such.
