not sure what you are saying. I know how to use a reel to reel player and recorder. Not too difficult unless the tape unwinds. Check on youtube. I have a collection of Geloso reel to reel all in one players and I have a Stellavox recorder which records with amazing tone, all you need for a live recording other than good mics. I also have a Nagra and a Soviet reel to reel recorder and player by LOMO. The Russians always made great equipment. Pink Floyd recorded vocals and guitars with russian mics and I believe Steely Dan also recorded drums with some Russian gear.

My father had a Teac reel-to-reel from the late 60s/early 70s. That thing went to college with me where it finally died. I took it up to be repaired and the guy said no chance...he'd love to take my money, but it would cost less to buy a new reel-to-reel than to get the parts needed to get the old one fixed.
I took it home and tossed it. My dad was depressed.
