Picked up this PS Silvertone.

Post by Kisstrooper »

Saw this one on Ebay Aus for a pretty good price in the original case( been sitting in a display case for quite a while), forgot to bid on it but the guy was happy to sell private, $350 shipped via courier from Queensland to NSW.
Paul Stanley Silvertone Pro, neck through with Duncan pickups, little TLC and should be sweet.

Its arrived today via courier from QLD, gave a clean up and re-string then a little Detroit Rock City to break it in to my collection.

I have 4 of the Paul Stanley Silvertones
1 Sovereign
2 - Mirrorball Apocolypse (1 Factory Neck through with the plastic mirror and 1 bolt on with custom inlayed mirror shards from Kamn Guitars Oregon that also has abalone and mother of pearl aftermaketed inlays in the neck.
1 - Monarch (This is a weird bolt on Les Paul that plays very nice)

I have two silvertones:

Sovereign Pro w/ neck through
Apocalypse Mirrored w/neck through

I like their look more than their playability...

I wont get much use with this live playing Ace in our band so it was more a display guitar than anything.

Nice Silvertones Kev! I like the Monarch, I suppose that was the blueprint for what would become the Preacher at Washburn... Silvertone didn't sweeten the deal enough for Paul so he took his concept to Washburn... He should go back to Ibanez, I would love to see new PS10's!

I agree with you in that I prefer the Ibanez best but alas I don't have one of those

Watch the video for "Domino". Paul plays Gene's bass and also plays the Ibanez version of that guitar (Monarch/ Preacher) that is similar in shape.

Good eyes Rick! I've seen that video a few times and I never noticed that was an Ibanez before. I never even knew that there was an Ibanez Prototype for the Preacher/Monarch as I thought the Silvertone was the 1st. Live and learn!

I've only ever seen that video once when it was new (1992) and I remember that guitar and how it stood out but didn't realize it was the first monarch/preacher! How cool :D I dig that video!
