It's pretty cool to see the back of the guitar.

Lots of my guitars don't have that cover on when I play them.

Yeah, he probably uses 9-42 I'm guessing, I can't remember if we knew.

I use 10-46 and have three springs in.

You must have that wrong Kev, that gauge is only available on Hello Kitty guitars. You have to prove you own one and are putting them on that guitar to be able to buy them. You also have to be a girl, guys can't buy them.

I do remember when I got my first guitar and going to change strings for the first time. I didn't know what was on there, and I figured 9-42 would be ok. WRONG!!! They were afwul compared to what I was used to, so I went up and discovered that 10-46 was what I wanted.

I bought a guitar that came setup great with 9-46 and used it at a gig, swapping from my normal guitar, to this one in between sets. I felt like I couldn't hear the solos anymore on the 9's, so I changed it to 10's and re-adjusted it. Still a great guitar, it was a Charvel Model 88, the Japanese cousin to your Jackson Kev.

8-38....and I don't use them anymore! Switched to 11s............pig's arse I did! :P

Back to 9-42. I'd use 10-46 if I had a wider nut guitar, big fingers...:( . Never, ever, ever heard any tonal difference between the gauges when played through a loud amp!

Without changing anything, the guitar with 9's was so less ballsy than the other one. My sound guy/guitar builder at the time noticed it too.

Seriously, when you are used to 10-46, you can't go back. I have never ventured any higher, otherwise I'd be only using 11's, as 10's were wimpy.

Everyone should do themselves a favour and do 10's, the tone, the tone....

Yeah, I wonder why he uses them, is there a problem with his fingers?

I can't imagine doing what he does, like pinch harmonics, on such wimpy, flappy strings.

easier to hit them actually with the lighter gauge strings, and as you get closer to 70, and arthritis comes into play... lighter strings are better... here is a more fun one to wrap your head around, watch his rig run down video, its gospel truth... Loud... NO TREBLE.. It is a real thing and its amazingly useful!

"941" might be an inventory number... some musicians number/inventory every single thing in their pile of gear to keep track of their own stuff, and for insurance reasons...

he has a very light touch and very low action.
On stage he plays guitars with hollow necks, including replicas of the most famous onjes.
In his rig there's a parametric EQ, so he can replicate the sound of Pearly Gates when he uses other guitars.

Vic - Hello Kitty = LMAO

A.K. - I'm just playing with you bro because you like light gauge or used to. I remember when we went down this road before Billy Gibbons came up too

All kidding aside 9 - 42 is very comfortable
