Madison Square Garden Shows

Post by BigEd »

I think it would be quite insulting to all the Fan's, if Gene & Paul didn't invite all of the Ex-Members to perform at the Final Madison Square Garden Shows, I Hope that Vinnie is Invited and they Truly Acknowledge All His Contributions, maybe they'll even let him play Lick It Up or War Machine, what do some of you guy's think ???

With all of the announced final shows it really does come down to MSG doesn't it? That's the real deal to see if they break out anything special.

Everyone living should be there, but it remains to be seen what will truly happen.

You would hope that egos and lawyers ($$$) would not get in the way here as it has in the past.

Is anybody here going?

Appear but not play would be as much as any ex member will get. Hopefully ALL will be invited......oh boy! And then the books will start to get written! :P
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Picture the scene. Paul, Gene, Eric and Tommy are sat in Doc McGhee's office discussing the final shows at MSG. The subject of Vinnie coming out and playing with the band comes up.

Doc says, "Pull up YouTube and let's take a look at some recent performances of this guy. Has he still got it? Can we reply on him to turn up and put in a professional show with us?"

"Here you go. Here he is at Creatures Fest last year"

"Right. What else have we got?"

"Ok how about Vinnie's appearance at Gene's Vault event in Nashville?".

"Oooookay......"

"Hang on, there's a video here of him playing Lick It Up, I Love It Loud and Cold Gin at the Pre Kruise 8 event right? Let's take a look at that".

".............".

You're Kiss. You are rock superstars. This is your big farewell spectacle for the fans. These are hugely important shows, and represent a culmination of everything you've done up to this point. 50 years of Kiss history encapsulated in a two hour performance. The shows that will go down in history as a significant moment in time in rock music. And of course you want it to be as perfect and amazing as it can be, with no drama. You can't afford to carry anyone. It has to be 100% right.

For a minute let's Ignore the politics, drama, lawsuits and history between VV and Kiss and whether the two parties actually like each other; just being purely objective based on what you see in those videos - Seriously, would you ask him to join you on stage and play during your last ever shows as a band?

You are correct. Vinnie doesn't really play anymore it seems. Not anything worth paying to see, and he certainly doesn't seem like he could fit into such a show and seamlessly rock out into KISStory.

Yeah, he has not shown anything worthy of being included, even if Paul and Gene loved him to bits.

If KISS were about to record Dynasty and Unmasked with Vinnie, his guitar parts would be a ghost player like with Peter.

Dirty Livin' kicked ass though.
