Social phobia

Hi! I'm a new member of this board although I've been reading your posts for a long time. I've suffered from social phobia for over two decades and let me tell you it's a very hard thing to cope with. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for pity here. I was just wondering that it might be possible that Vinnie has a severe social phobia too. That might be one big reason why he is not doing anything outside the virtual world. If he has this terrible thing like I do, I can totally understand that it is almost impossible to be with people socially. Social phiobia can make you feel like you're totally paralyzed when you have to be among other people and if Vinnie chose to be a special guest on something like Kiss expo, he would have to socialize and chat with fans live and pretend that he was having a great time.
What do you think? Does this make any sense to you? I hope that you understood my writing (My English sucks, I know that...)

And I'd like to add that If you think that social phobia is something like being nervous among other people...Well, it is like that but 1000,0000 times worse. You're scared to death when you have to socialize with other people. I know that it sounds crazy but it's true. :(

Hi. Great you brought this up. However I don't think it's vv's problem. He lives for socializing. I think paranoia for sure and severe depression but I know he loves hanging with people. Maybe he has a very similar thing to you but not exactly but just my opinion.. Great you opened up.here. Thanks

Do you think that he actually hangs out and socializes with other people? (Or just in virtual world)
It's hard to believe that he ever leaves his home, because nobody has seen him for ages. Or at least IĀ“haven't heard or read anything like that since the late 90's.

Welcome V8Vince.

He has other issues , he loves to pretend he is other people and make us believe that he is in
a throne very very busy and he is in charge of this organization or empire.

He used to socialise all the time. He hangs or hanged with lawyers and online talks to many. When he spoke to me he was extremely confident and comfortable.

I USED to suffer from social anxiety.

In VV's case, however, has no indication of any type of social anxiety or anti-socialism.
He has no problem socializing.
A man with any type of social anxiety would have never been able to play in front of a crowd of thousands or more personally, speak to a crowd of a 100. He is total opposite of that.

He feels we must kiss up to his ass and give him loads of money just to be able to talk to, get music out of, or see him.

Only reason he may not go out in public eye much is because he knows we are following him. Not stalker like but, he would attract A LOT of attention. He now likes to keep a low key life.

That's all it boils down to. Money.

I wasn't a social phobic when I was young, but being a recluse changes you a lot! Vinnie has been a recluse for almost two decades. It's easy to have an online conversation and be social in the virtual world, but I doubt he could face a crowd of people anymore. Of course I can be wrong, but being a recluse for so long must affect your ability to be social with other people in real life. I don't consider online chatting and e-mailing being social at all. The whole social media thing is actually making people less and less social in real life IMO.

I think for sure he has paranoia of so called dangerous fans so I guess he has social phobia in that respect. I don't think for one bit play a gig or being filmed for an interview would bother him at all though.

No one knows what goes on in his personal life daily. He may go out and such but since he likes to keep his life low key, like I said, he doesnt want the majority of people knowing about it (particularly us fans.)

Sure he uses social media quite a bit, but whos to say he uses it all the time? I use social media a lot and I am in no way a recluse or have social anxiety.

One being a recluse does not always affect your social skills anyway. When it comes to us fans we are constantly kept at bay. Thats the way he wants it.

Sum it up. He has no social anxiety. He just doesnt want dick squat to do with us fans unless you want to give him insane amounts of money. Hes just a bitter old man who despises the ones who love him most

Depression, bi polar, insomnia and ego are the issue. Maybe multiple personality disorder too. Maybe all one and the same. Of course we all have or most have something to work out but vv needs to act on his or it will be one fall after fall.

Have anyone actually seen him after...let's say 2000? Isn't it strange that there are zero stories like "I saw Vinnie at McDonalds" or something like that. He has completely disappeared. There are thousands and thousands of Kiss fans, but I've never read or heard anything about somebody seeing him after year 2000.

Spoke on phone with him in 2010. His attorney speaks with him a lot or did.

Did he sound like a "sane" person when you talked with him? Did he say anything strange/unusual? Did you ask him why he's been "gone" so long?

i've often wondered if he's on the spectrum. might explain his hundreds of notes per second. and his precision. but even for his faults he has in the past at least had some head for business. further his responses to members on the forums and use of paragraphs are indicative that he is not.

ah well.

Yes, I have been amazed that we got what we did out of him considering the last two decades. At one point he was doing all he could to succeed, joining and forming bands prior to getting into Kiss and turning that into The Invasion and then it fell apart. Eight years to release a four track demo and then squat, just dodgy dealings like the box set and numerous fake accounts.

I can't count the Speedball disc as a release, that was a joke.
