I mean really, this stuff does exist and all KISS want to do is hide from it ! There new box set ( the 4th one ) coming out has 1 concert from the lick it up but, that's it ! No Creatures stuff ,,, it's like they just don't want us to see that era .... why ? Old shows everybody has seen already that KISS themselves cut, they may as well be CNN and only show us what they want us to see ! If Gene where only right in saying the fans are the boss's then I think fans would want to see the hard to find stuff like the V.V. era !!! Instead of bitching about Vinnie today I am bitching about KISS. Come on Gene & Paul wake the f**k up and give the fans what they really want to see. Maybe 20 years from now I will want to see Tommy but, not right now !!!!!

Looks like it was only 1 camera! Looked good though!

So I'm correct in thinking that not many have this, eh?

Gene and Paul need to get a move on and get some of this stuff out there.

I looks like some of the best Lick It Up live video footage yet (even if it is just one camera at least it's pretty much straight on).

It's par for the course with genie and paulie...
They want to try and erase the Vinnie era because of their guilty conscience...

And they want to punish the fans that love the Vinnie era...no other reason.

Gene made it mandatory that every show be recorded...look at how he has
one of every kiss item made in his office and his storage warehouse of shit.

So, this goes directly against his previous actions...he puts out any piece of shit
item up for sale...but no real Vinnie era of substance...just bits 'n pieces...

Kiss are a bunch of strokes...

I'M GONNA KEEP ON SAYING IT...WITHOUT VINNIE, KISS WOULD HAVE STILL
BEEN WRITING CRAP LIKE 'SHANDI'.

A lot of its down to the little old fact fact that vinnie takes kiss to court everytime vinnie shows up in classic footage. Vinnie looses but I would say Eddie its most likely that reason they don't show the fans that footage.

Eddie. I am going to keep saying it kiss made 7 of the creatures tunes without vv writing and all didn't play guitar on Pauls songs including the tunes creatures of the night . Vinnie did some wonderful things with kiss but you can not say without vv kiss would being still playing shandi. That's plain stupid.

I would love full shows from tours supporting:
Creatures
Lick It Up
Animalize (with MSJ...I already have the live DVD with Bruce)
Asylum

I wish they would remaster the Animalize video and release it on DVD. I have one of the European DVDs but the sound quality is not even as good as my original VHS and it has sub-titles that won't shut off.

A DVD would be good.

I still have my laser disc of Animalize but to have it on dvd would be good also.

For the most part, I agree with Eddie even though I do like 'Shandi'.

Vinnie's contributions empowered Kiss and taught them how to play music with their dick again.

Good post Eddie !!!

It would seem it is the first for many, including myself, on seeing this material.

It certainly lends credence to the many theories out there that there's a great deal more of Kiss vid then Paul and Gene are letting on about.

Never any hard feelings guys...
I just like bustin' chops, especially for people that follow blindly what
gene and paul say or do...

727...you didn't call me stupid, you referred to my comments as stupid...no worries. Even if you did call me stupid, you are entitled to your opinion.

All of you are cool...I'm more than likely gonna disagree with you when it comes to Vinnie, though.

For the other COTN songs...the boyz needed Adam Mitchell, Mikel Japp, Bryan Adams & Jim Vallance.
Everyone knows who Bryan Adams is right? Great canadian singer songwriter frontman of his own band.
And Vallance did a ton of work for people over the years.

I wonder if these writers too have been stiffed by the gene an paul organization??? hmmm

gene and paul are very weak, weak songwriters.

TRUST ME...THE FOOTAGE IS OUT THERE...IT WAS A THE BEGINNING OF A NEW ERA WITHOUT
MAKE-UP AND GENE WOULD NEVER PASS UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE MONEY OFF OF
SELLING IT. (well, until he had to duke it out with Vinnie).

Adams and vallance were stiffed by Gene, but it was the normal procedure in the business-still is.

Adams and Vallance agreed to give the song to Gene under his conditions. He also did re-write the song a little but they understood he would get credit for not doing anything , take it or leave it. I am sure they did that to Vinnie too. On Gene's side he would say a little of something (that he paved the way for) is better than a lot of nothing (or a lot of something much smaller than kiss). On Vinnie's side you can see that if he wrote the majority or all of I love it loud and Lick it up and he is getting a tiny return compared to Paul and Gene (if that is true), then you could well see VV getting pissed especially as he has had no hit tunes since.
Its not cut a dry, but you have to say if you join kiss surely you know that you are not going to be equal. Its a Paul and Gene solo act, just as much as if you join Vinnie Vincent band and co write all the tunes you still are not going to be equal in VV's band because VV is taking all the risk of having his own band, keeping reputation etc, but that said I still see Vinnie's side and it just seems an impossible thing to work out without knowing exactly what Kiss make from VV's song writing and what Vinnie makes. I would think that 3rd parties are involved in paying royalties.

To my knowledge, Mark Norton did not play on any KISS show, at least not completely. There's ONE live song on youtube (audio only), but that's it.

The exact point were he got sick is still a bit debated, but most agree it was either in the last days of the Animalize sessions, or just before the tour began. In any case, both scenarios have the same results: he wasn't able to play on any live show.

Mark played three shows, one from the second half onwards( he,the band and Bruce bowed together at the end) and two complete ones.Still they got a problem because Mark and the band had a different idea about playng around the beat( Mark played on the top of the beat, Kiss are used to play behind the beat).

A video of one of those gigs is one of the most sought after kiss rarities. No one-except the band-knows if those gigs were filmed.Audio bootlegs are circulating in fan circles.........

Hearing Gene sing it live is cool .
Also, Hearing the guys go for the background vocals like the recording is cool.

The Animalize Tour version is cool with Eric Carr singing and the altered chorus ,but, I prefer this version for the sheer recklessness of it.

why did Eric start singing it? this surely is the only time something like that happened when the guy who originally sang it is still in the band.

One only needs to listen to Gene struggling to have the answer as to why Eric started singing it.
That being said, I dig Gene's live(struggling) version. VERY PRIMAL !!!!

Plus Eric would have been happy to sing another song live.

I love the studio version but Eric should've sang it on the album... hell, imo he should've had at least ONE lead vocal on every album in the 8o's.

I'm in total agreement. I love Eric's interpretation of the lead vocal. I think his voice suits the song better. I like the swagger of the Animalize Live version with the lower backing vocals. The only thing I dislike is Bruce's solo. I can't put my finger on it, but it just doesn't have the "bite" that Vinnie's had. I like a lot of Bruce's other stuff, but even when I saw this for the first time I thought that solo was just boring and uninspired.

To you guitar players, am I making an emotional judgement or is there something lacking technically in Bruce's solo?

Erg, yes it's probably just something uninspired that Bruce threw in at the last minute.

Dino, yes Vinnie and Gene wrote it. I remember reading that Vinnie was promised a lead vocal on Animalize but of course that never worked out. Eric would've been peeved, understandably so.
