Meet and greets are weird really. I've done a few (mostly for my son's benefit) over the years. After every one, I always feel a sense of disappointment and buyers remorse. They are very unfulfilling.

My last one was Warrant at the M3 festival. Been a fan for many years, and was really there to meet Joey Allen (I think he's a very underestimated solid rock guitarist - but whatever). And you're ushered into a room, say hello, stand in the middle of the band. The roadie snags two pictures with your mobile phone, a tote bag with some crap is handed to you, and you're out the door, because there's 20 people behind you waiting their turn.

Like, its not really a "hang" and the way these things are set up, doesn't lend itself to any sort of conversation/interaction. Its very transactional.

I did manage to say a few words to Joey and shook his hand and I guess we had a brief connecting moment, but outside of that it didn't really tick the boxes.

I'm staggered at the sort of prices people are willing to pay to meet Kiss and your boy VV.

Unexpectedly meeting these people is a far better experience (and free of course). I sat opposite Annie Lennox once in a restaurant in London, and we chatted for 10 minutes about music, which sticks in my mind as an experience more than any meet/greet I've done.

Yes, the M&G burn is familiar. I would never pay what KISS are asking (and people do pay, and I've heard of CRAZY prices in the past for people like The Stones etc), but for the $$$ Vinnie charges you do get more and it has a bit of that hang feel. Sadly they are seeming to get padded with other artists of no real interest, but at least Vinnie is there the whole time I guess.

I did the VIP Soundcheck experience with Extreme and it left me with a bad taste. Firstly because I could hear the soundcheck while I waited before and after the alloted time, so there was no soundcheck to see/hear, they had done it and Nuno's guitar was all set to play the gig. It was then Nuno mainly who was very unfriendly in general, like he had a big chip on his shoulder. I couldn't even bond with him as a guitarist as I showed him my Charvel tattoo and he was like "So? I had a Charvel when I was twelve". I was so surprised I couldn't think of a good come back on the spot. Why so mean? Why not? "How cool man, I used to play a Charvel too, they are great" or something, maybe show an interest.

No. Instead it was an unfriendly vibe and only Gary signed a very few things, much to Nuno's annoyance. So I got one of my CD covers signed, the one for Three Sides, great album, but now I don't like hearing Nuno's vocals on the songs, it's a bit ruined. I'll let some more time pass before I listen to any Extreme again.

They weren't supposed to sign anything, but Gary did a few so I got one in, I was prepared with a Sharpie and some CD covers and I figured it wasn't gonna happen till a lady handed something to Gary, so I got that one cover done too.

You also weren't allowed to film anything otherwise you'd be removed. Possibly so Nuno can be narky and it won't show up online, other than a written review like this.

Oh man. I did the Extreme M&G last time round for my son and found them quite the opposite. All smiles and happy to see everyone. Although Nuno typo'd his signing of my son's N4 backplate:

George was fine. Very nonchalant. He did clinic for the his V shaped ESP guiar (sort of Jackson Roswell shaped ESP) he had out at the time.
Very relaxed and calm and matter of a fact-ish about stuff. He took his time with people. Yer, he was OK.


Also to add to that list, have also met Jeff Scott Soto, Göran Edman, Yngwie Malmsteen, Bruce Kulick. Again no money was exchanged for these guys. Göran Edman super nice guy.

Oz Fox in '89 was the first "rock star" i ever met. He was very pleasant to talk to. And it was my first ever concert.

Met Nicko McBrain back in '92 for free at Billy Hydes in Sydney (You were probably there too Dan?!?!) and he was great! It was just a Q & A session, really. I don't remember him playing? Maybe he did? Bloody 29 years ago already!

Went to two Dream Theater M&G. Got a couple of goodies and a picture both times. Both sessions were kind of rushed. Portnoy was definitely the most standoff-ish of the five. Proud to say that I actually made John Myung laugh! I have their autographs so wouldn't do one again.

Went to the KISS conventions in '95 but didn't even try to get near them, a mate got me Bruce & Eric's autographs in Brisbane. G & P just too swamped to get near. Snuck into the Sydney convention as they started the autograph sessions to look at everything one more time. Dan & Vic were definitely there for sure.

Met KISS (with 12, count 'em, 12 other people) on the reunion tour in '97 on the street, outside of the Brisbane Casino. They were asshats! Paul ran out and we said hi and let him be. 5 mins later, Peter's Dad came out and said that they'd be leaving soon so get ready, 5 mins later, Peter & Ace run out and try to jump in the Toyota Tarago. A 13-14 year kid got up to Peter with a guitar and as he's signing it he says, "Are you going to sell this now?" What a total KUNT! I can still see the blood drain from that kid's face. Ace (no doubt stoned) sat in the car ignoring everyone. Paul signed a couple of things and I got to Gene to sign a Guitar World with KISS on the cover and he didn't even look where he was signing and it ended up half assed. I asked, "How was last night's show?" He replied with, " I don't think it's the right time to do an interview!" It just said "Yeah...thanks..."
Ace then jumped out of the car and ran across the street into an electronics store. I could see G&P mouth "Where the fuck is he going?". I thought, "Well fuck you all for being asshats, I'm going over to that store!" I waited until Ace walked out and before I could put my bag down, he stuck out his left hand to shake mine! I asked if it was a good night last night and replied with a laugh, After the show!"

Yeah, people charging or people paying $500, $1000, $2000 or whatever to meet them and spend 2 minutes or less . I really find that crazy. I don't hold it against people. If that's how they want to spend their money, more power to them.

Thankfully, I've met most of the rockers and other artists or athletes I care about for free.

I've never gone to a comiccon or anything. I may sometime just to meet some of the stars from classic tv shows from the 70's or 80's that I loved. I wouldn't mind meeting Buck Rogers or Col Deering. The guys from Emergency and some other shows. So I'd probably pay $100 or so to have my picture taken with some of those like that.

On "Euphoria" I was listed as a "Top Contributor" yet I was recently let go unexpectedly, for what I call a Matter of an Opinion.... I've always been Supportive of Vinnie and We go back a long way, living 10 minutes from Vinnie clearly gave me a Little Advantage as a Fan, Vinnie was always Cool with Me especially when he allowed me to hang for hours at his booth In New Jersey, signing Free Pictures and giving me (4) Free Shirts for my Boy's and just chatting about Good Ol' Bridgeport, though I'm left in a Little Disbelief, I will always Wish Vinnie the Best and hope that the Music we have waited so long for, arrives soon....

Vinnie is from a different mind set that its hard for any decent person to het head around. He spends 21 hours a day on social media. in his head he is a mafia boss but the only thing he has is a fb page with fan boys scared to say the wrong thing. His favorite thing is to boot people, it's like 'wacking' someone for him. He likes even more to boot people who don't want to be booted and people who are nice to him. The narcissism is beyond a level decent people can get their head around .He is nice usually when out or with new people but the level of ego is beyond imagination and the bigger the ego the more insure a person is so that big ego turns much easier on other people. What an ego is is just the part of you that hates and doubts yourself and he takes that out on fans or people who like him or want to help. He can only work with the lowest of the low people and those guys are on thin ice all the time too.
No way out for the guy. But booting your own fans even if you don't like them is insane as that's the Hands that feed you. I think lots of people hate their fans but are big enough to at least fake liking them.. But VV has no ability as the ego so big. The bigger your ego also the more you cant see the big picture.

His career and image was bad enough before, but at least there was nothing for so long and things can soften over time, as we all wondered what had happened to the once great Vinnie Vincent.

Returning to the public eye in the fashion that he's done over the past 6 years has cemented that he's fruitbat crazy and his legacy is shot. There's no recovering from this unless there is a complete 180 degree turn around, but that would probably take a major intervention and some professional medical help. Vinnie would fire/boot anyone who was legitimately helping him, but not letting him do crazy/stupid things. So it's a tough.

He's probably gonna be nuts until he dies and then we'll see where we're at. So sad.

he's been putting out this album since 2010. before that through the 90s. Never happened in the 90s. Now has been 14 years since his re-appearence and the promoting of 'coming this year' the album. last year it was at the 'pressing plant' now its not. The guy who paid for it last year seems to be gone. Now he is saying he is putting out 45s which will mean that they are 300 to 1000 dollars each. he will have in his head he can sell each song he is tinkering with and has amateur Faysal Smile singing on he can sell for unto 1000 dollars each times x10 or however many songs he has,, it won't happen but on the slim chance it does not one of those 45s will sell for more than 30 bucks and at 30 bucks talking under 30 sales each . in my opinion especially that he is only catering to Kiss fans who don't care for him and not attempting to branch out
