I saw Candy goes to Hollywood on video when I was 15 I still remember it really well! It had a theme song which ripped off Stayin' Alive & there was a character with the name "Samuel Golddicker"

Wendy had a fucking hot body. When the Plasmatics opened for Kiss, seeing her mostly naked body destroy things did something to an 11 year old Poser's naughty area during his first concert ever.

Wendy was fucking awesome, and a saint. I'm not crazy about her voice in some stuff, but it KILLS on the "Maggots" album. That's a top-10 fave.

I don't see how Gene ever thought he could make her break nationally and have commercial appeal, but go figure, she *did* have a Grammy nomination in '85.



Don't think V got to work with her directly. Great tune.

Gene did try to make her a metal version of joan jett.If you go past the appereance, you would've seen somebody who stick to her guns all her life and was an original.Extreme but original,always choosing the rough way, especially commercial wise.When you hear her talk, outside her stage persona, there was a bright and intelligent person, who called a spade a spade.Somethin cannot be said for other, huh,plastic-let's-get-rebel girl-kit shock rock girls, whose motto was "i'm beyond fake".
