Sad news from the Reo Speedwagon camp of Gary's passing today.
He was a really talented guitarist, I really liked his style.

Bummer. I've never listened to them though.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains!

One of those classic Les Paul through a Marshall tones. Good bends, tasty solos.

Yes, and he was just as good live as on the album.poserboy71 wrote:One of those classic Les Paul through a Marshall tones. Good bends, tasty solos.
He did so good on Take It On The Run.
Last year he played on stage with Reo again and now no more.

yep, first cousin. He is my Dad's age although I'm not a huge REO fan I love Gary's solo stuff.

Sorry for your loss man, I'm a big Reo Fan myself, he did some great guitar work.

I dont' dislike REO I just wish it would have been a little more flying turkey trot, 157 riverside ave, and less keep on loving you. The band definitely lost something when he took off. But thanks everyone.
Re: RIP Gary Richrath
Yes, I understand he left due to the ever increasing softness of their sound, but he still provided great licks until the end.
