Mr. Big -"...TSWCT"

I just bought the new Mr. Big album, "...The Stories We Could Tell".
Upon first listen, It isn't grabbing any interest from me for future listening.
There are few interesting chord changes, Billy Sheehan's personality is barely ,if ever, present. Paul Gilbert's playing is uninspired and CLUNKY. There isn't really a drop of clever ANYTHING to be had.
It basically has the charm of an Eric Martin solo album---- Good ,BUT NOT Mr. Big GOOD.
There are only about two songs that happen in the middle of the album that are reminiscent of Mr. Big and those songs mirror the vibe of the ,'Hey Man" album instead of the first three albums.
Of course I will give it a few more chances but first instincts usually are correct. I hope it grows on me but I don't recall an album ever doing that.
