Tod Howarth - "Cold Beach"

Post by ozone73 »

Newest song and video form Tod Howarth. I really like it. I have that Frehley's Comet shirt he is wearing in this video, too.

I have that shirt. I believe it was a one off for the London show in 1988 that they made the live video from.

Here is an example of a guy that did it and continues to do it right.
He never really made it huge, but now he is doing session work, doing back-up vocals/playing for major acts and releases his own stuff on occasion through independent means and makes a living.

The song is pretty cool.

I worked (3) shows as an onstage bouncer for Frehley's Comet/Y & T/White Lion in the late 80's...My spot was 5 ft from Tod's right side, Tod's a great guy and a very talented guitar player, Vito Bratta was amazing !!! I just can't believe he too stopped playing, touring and producing music just like someone we know...

Remember Paul Taylor from Winger ? He is similar to Tod by keeping busy.
Last Thursday while I was talking with Eric from Cinderella, someone joined our conversation. I immediately recognized him. Paul is playing keyboards on the 2012 Cinderella tour.
What an incredible talent !!!!

This is a recent photo of Paul that I found on Google:

Very nice song by Tod!

I really want to see pictures of rick hanging with Eric from Cinderella. Rick are they living in Ohio? I met Jeff labar a few times in the 80s and he was very nice.

A bright spot on a mostly lame album. I'm torn that it wasn't a hit. In terms of timeline, style and quality it had everything going for it to be a hit. However, the album overall is so crappy and Ace was so...uninvolved...in the production of the album that I'm glad it didn't go anywhere. (I'd rather praise be focused on good albums like the s/t first album or Trouble Walkin' or even the great Live +1!)

I also think the record company had a big hand in the failure of Frehley's solo career. He had so many good tunes...songs that were way better than what ended up on the albums...but they never made it. The release schedule was plain crazy and NONE of the albums after the first received much of a marketing push.

I will post them soon.I took the 12 string bass that I bought from Eric and they signed it. They have always been extremely cool to me.

I will also post a surprise
guest picture as well.

The Cinderella guys (with the exception of Fred) live in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
If I go to Summer NAMM again this year, I will most likely meet up with Eric to buy a few bass cabinets off of him.

Great new song from Tod Howarth. He´s still cool. I´m always glad when there´s coming out something new from the heros of the 80´s.
I also have the T-shirt he´s wearing in the video. I got it from ebay.
I love the video of the 1988 London show from Ace Frehley.

I used to watch the Animalize Live VHS and the Frehley's Comet Live VHS weekly when I was a teen. The only thing I dislike about the Frehley's Comet is the drummer, Jamie Oldaker. A fine drummer, just not right for the Comet and I really, really, really was expecting it to be Anton before I watched it the first time. (I hadn't read at that point that Anton wasn't joining for the tour.)

I had the same feelings. At points, it sounds like Jamie didn't bother learning the songs.

I am now, and was the, a mediocre drummer in awe of the skill of Anton. When I heard what Oldaker was playing all I could think of was "Give me 2 weeks rehearsal with the band and EVEN I could play that!"

Trouble Walking has a great sound production-wise and a few really good songs. Richie gets saddled with crap and the lyrical content of the album overall is sub-par.
