ANIMETAL-USA, the brand new metal band featuring singer Mike Vescera (OBSESSION, ex-LOUDNESS), bassist Rudy Sarzo (BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, ex-OZZY OSBOURNE, QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, DIO), drummer Scott Travis (JUDAS PRIEST) and guitarist Chris Impellitteri (IMPELLITTERI), will release its self-titled debut album in Japan on October 12 via Sony Music Entertainment.

Says Impellitteri: "I wanted to confirm that I am indeed playing with the band ANIMETAL. The band is playing a mix of classic Anime songs mixed with our own original heavy metal riffs, solos, vocals, bass and drum parts. The record is pretty insane sounding! The playing is intense and the live show is extremely theatrical. It should be lots of fun for our fans. All four of us worked extremely hard to take Anime to a new level. So, I hope you have a chance to join us on this new musical journey both on record and live. Hope to see you soon as our first show will be announced soon!"

"Animetal-USA" track listing below:

01. Uchuusenkan Yamato
02. Gatchaman No Uta
03. Mazinger Medley
04. Makafushigi Adventure!
05. Zankokuna Tenshino Thesis
06. Aiwo Torimodose!!
07. Ganbare Dokaben
08. Pegasus Fantasy
09. Yuke Tigermask
10. Fight! Kinnikuman Go Fight!
11. Yukeyuke Hyuma

Chris sent me that pic from their video shoot a few days ago. I hope he tours the states and not just Japan!

Still waiting for Mr. Impellitteri to ship (or bring) me the prototype Spider Impellitteri Dean

BTW, they were also considering Tommy Aldridge,

Sounds pretty fierce

Pre-order link: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=SICP-3268

He used his 1958 Gibson Les Paul, and most of the solos were done on an Ibanez vintage Rg 550

He did use the Spiderweb on the song Dokaben. His techs think they have figured out what Dean did wrong to the Spiderweb guitar and he's sending it back Friday. They cut the neck pocket too deep which means the neck sits too low in relation to the body and tremelo. And the back shape of the neck was too thick. So they are going to shave it down to match one of his strat profiles and hopefully he'll will be back in Dean land. If they get it right he will stick to the Deans.

And he got permission from Rush, Black Sabbath, Accept, etc. to use parts of their songs to blend with their original riffs and the classic Animetal music, FWIW

Malmsteen wishes he was as clean as Chris!!!!! Mike's voice always recognizable at first listen! Sarzo I didn't get AND I should have got Travis just from his height in the photo!!!

Their first date will be here: http://www.loudpark.com/11/lineup/

Jon Dette from Slayer is playing drums on the first dates, not Scott. He has prior commitments.

I was never a huge fan of Chris Impellitteri . To me , he is the same as MAB. Even though they are both very clean and might be faster , Vinnie smokes them both with everything that makes up his style ---Plus Vinnie's obvious songwriting skills.

Vinnie in a landslide !!!

I know!!! I'm still dealing with mass amounts of denial.
Vinnie did say that he does play electric guitar around the house so I believe his chops are beyond up to snuff.

Can we change this web site to to 'Sweet&Soar.com'
I got Jesus in my fax machine. I saw Ho Chi Minh down @ Burger King. I dated Vinnie Vincent as a Drag Queen. I still don't understand a f**kin' thing.

I am not a big fan of the whole Mozart played six times the speed of sound style but the ability deserves much praise , it can become very generic very quickly, BB king can say more with one note than ends up on that whole album.

I wonder if the guys at Dean can build anything right the first time now, how the hell do you screw up a neck pocket, especially on a CNC build. I played there guitars for a while had a USA Time capsule Z it was a fantastic guitar just perfect but it was made at ( US masters ) then got a few DOA guitars and every single one had issues.
I think its silly that they ask for over a grand for Korean built guitars and most every other brand is sold around the 200-500 dollar range

The strange thing is that they're selling the Spider model while Chris is still working out the kinks for the prototype (the one that was at NAMM a couple of years ago) The guitar has been back and forth to Tampa three times as I'm aware, maybe more. I don't know how many have been sold, nor have I questioned it.

That's a shame for Chris kids that buy the guitar are doing so because its his guitar and supposed to be just like the one he plays. A recent interview with Dean Zelinsky pretty much laid these type of problems as his reason for leaving and putting his new company together.

That can be very true!

Yawn! Great voice, hate his playing! Boring, boring, boring! Hate watching that 1st finger vibrato he always does!

Ha! I did a caricature for Bruce Kulick with him in "Sorcerer" makeup back in '95 for the Atlanta KISS Convention. Bruce loved it and the makeup design I used looked similar to Rudy Sarzo's in this pic... random I know.
