Eric's 1988 drum kit for sale

It was mentioned elsewhere that Eric Carr's 1988 drum kit was up for sale.

That's not all though, there is also Eric's actual Porsche 924 he was given by Kiss when he first joined!

Holy crap, it's 30 years old now and I wonder who put the ding in the front?

I wonder about the bad condition of the car.
Who has driven this car in the past?
I'm a great fan with passion of Porsche and can't belive how badly the car looks like..

I remember by the end of the 80's while Eric was still using it it wasn't in the best condition.

Maybe Gene didn't get out of the way fast enough and the ding at the front was made?

It sucks that it had to be broken up and sold. Kiss should really step up and buy things like this.

I remember there was a Porsche in the Reason To Live video, it was a 928 and they used a model when they set it on fire.

I can't remember the cars in Exposed, do you mean at the very start when they are about to go in? I think there are fancy cars like RR and stuff there?

i remember it so well. not sure why. it was way over the top. I remember that video was the first time i ever saw vv in make up. virtually nothing was published in the 80s (after '83) of vv in make up and i didn't get into kiss until '84 when I was only 9 years old.

reason to live vid was a toy Porsche getting flamed .. poss a 959 .. Erics was a 911 if I recall correctly .. perhaps theyds have been better flaming his imaginary parking space .. but them Simmons ass hole might have had a back draught from hell

I'm conflicted between getting either a Solo Drum or one of the Tom Drums. The Tom obviously being a bit more expensive.
Looking for feedback here......what drum would YOU get?

It was a 928 in Reason To Live and Eric's was a 924, a relatively cheap model.

How much are the drums, ball park? I have no idea what they might be going for, if you don't mind telling.

They're priced in the $2000 to $3000 range. Lower being the Solo Drums, higher for the Toms.
Not sure what 'triggers' are....???

I'm really just curious as to what people would get if they had a choice of one over the other, irrespective of the pricing.

What happened to the Chrome Creatures set?

I am a drummer and I don't know what triggers are either.. just going to check that out. Sounds Amti-Buddy Rich however.

Those Ludwigs in my opinion record the best (or at least in the 80s). I am not really a Ludwig guy too much but in the studio they seem to rock. Also they sound great live too.

Is the snare for sale.. maybe thats the most useful if you want to use it.

Nah, the snare isn't for sale. And I'm not going to use it for anything other than to display in my home office. It essentially will be a display pce only.

the snare would have been cool to play. i was tempted to buy Bobby Rock's Sonor from the ASG tour which some guy was selling on the old pyro board.. but I am not a huge fan of the sound. Great live Rock sound so I was told but even Bobby said they had a hard time recording with it. He used an old Kordia Artstar II (tama) with Nitro and a Gretsch with Skull and Nelson (in the studio).

Yeah, I would imagine the snare would have been snapped up straight away if it was available. I think the kit has been incomplete for quite some time given the pics posted at kissmuseum of when it was still in the possession of Eric's family.
So, for a display pce, Solo Drum or Tom?

i would go for a floor tom. Do you know the sizes he used. I guess a 16 or 18. Could use it with mallets on its own.

There's only the 15" left. The 14", 16" and 18" sold prety much straight away.

I can't believe you guys didn't know what triggers were? I am sure Peter Criss was using them by 2000.

I would watch him playing with very little obvious power but the sound coming out was huge, thanks to the triggers, he was playing an electronic drum kit.

Eric Singer is in a whole different league.

i don't agree with Peter on how to mic drums. I like the Steely Dan technique which is one or two boom mics. Peter mics every drum individually with kiss. I don't think drums should be separated like that and I think Peter's drum sound has gotten worse every year I hear it. Just my opinion.
