Ace is turning VERY bitter these days.
As much as I loath Simmons and Stanley these past few years, I accept they are VERY business-like, and Peter & Ace were passengers most of the time.

I heard ace wasn't the best regarding back stabbing . Ask john Reagan.
Bye Bye
Re: Ace: "Paul will stab you in the back."
Acealive1: ace will no show KISS concert dates or get there 45 minutes before show time.
Re: Ace: "Paul will stab you in the back."
I think Ace did the right thing axing ALL members of Comet after the awful 'Second Sighting', it was a dire album.doublev2 wrote:I heard ace wasn't the best regarding back stabbing . Ask john Reagan.
I did like Trouble Walking, but Anomaly is patchy at best.
I think Ace still dines out on his name and the success of the 1978 solo album.
I saw Frehleys Comet in London in 1988, and they were so-so. the drummer was poor........certainly NO Anton Fig!
I will buy the new CD, but Im NOT that optimistic it will be anything other than 'average'
Re: Ace: "Paul will stab you in the back."
Oldaker is a legend. Played on original I shot the sheriff and with neil schon and Bob seagers.
I thought he was pretty good live with ace. The guy on trouble walkin tour I didn't like, way too heavy sounding for ace. Anton to me sounds crap with letterman, complete generic but he was awesome on ace solo record and comet/trouble walkin recordings

I'm with Alan! I thought Oldaker was very pedestrian. Apart from two songs, I like Second Sighting.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains!
Re: Ace: "Paul will stab you in the back."
The 'decent' tracks on Second Sighting are Todd Howarth songs. I think it was him that was the driving force in Comet to be honest.
Re: Ace: "Paul will stab you in the back."
prolly the besst drummer comet had was Billy ward.............As good as it may be,Oldaker didn't seem to fit well.
Ace career was doomed also by poor promotion, bad marketing ideas( both live +1 and the SS were record company ideas,it seemed that Ace had no decent tunes on it)and especially his, huh, behaviour. The same record company rightfully so asked Ace to get rid of the "Comet" nickname.
About his comment on Paul, Peter said something similar. No wonder ,since it seems that every one of them based their books on the one that were released before.
I think Paul comment's on Eric Carr were in bad taste, and in some cases, really uncalled for. Also in his book he has digs for everyone, past and presents.Yet he showed ,well, selective memory.
what was more scary is that Paul seem to really believe in everything 's what he's written in his so called "bio"

It's funny as I always dismissed tod howarth as a b grader but actually his writing and singing hold up.
