Ah yes, Civic Center, Bismark, ND, 12/28/82 The first date of the "Creatures Of The Night Tour"!

Here's a great Kerrang article on the tour (later in the tour)

Brainsaw, since you're an insider, did Vinnie and Eric really have to wear old pieces of Peter and Ace's previous costumes when they got snowed in on that first Creatures' date?

BILLBOARD REVIEW OF COTN:

“The back cover may resemble Dire Straits’ current album jacket but any similarities between the ends there. KISS, still not revealing identities, comes back with a hard-hitting dose of very heavy metal. Whereas the last few Kiss albums made concessions to pop and progressive rock audiences, this album takes the foursome back to its roots – simple but effective heavy metal - which made the band so successful in the first place. Prime cuts are ‘Creatures of the Night,’ ‘I Love It Loud,’ ‘Killer’ and ‘Saint and Sinner’” (Billboard, 11/20/82).

Two of Vinnie's 3 songs (although 5 recorded) on Creatures makes it as a PRIME CUT in Billboard's review!!

And hell, the other song they didn't mention... "I Still Love You" was a concert staple for years".

Happy 30th!

Sad day for those whose show was snowed out yesterday (30 year ago) but today is a day to toast in KISStory!

You just will NOT listen to the Ass Pimple. It has shown you the article in the hard hitting news article from Kerrang, whose fact-checking department was the envy of even the Washington Post. These magazines and the press releases from the record company are 100% fact, hard hitting news. Do not question them. Accept them as fact.

like i said kerrang had no fact checking and most of the counts from readers polls were written before they even had a single piece of mail. Magazines do favours for record companies. I am sure Keranng loved VVI like i did but they were also very much in the hands of record labels like all the magazines.. also they especailly helped out britsh bands and british labels like Chrysalis. So don't take anything as fact in kerrang.

If you read the Casablanca book, they would have "reader's poll" parties where they would send people around to buy every magazine in the city and then people in the Casablanca office would spend the day filling out the readers polls in favor of KISS and send them in. So clearly, these magazines and record companies are all very scrupulous. I trust everything they say just like the jagoff does.

To those who read the comments from the two Vinnie haters.... remember.... they have NO IDEA where the one article came from.

The top link is to a Dante Kerrang article about the COTN tour (well into the tour).

Who knows where the CAN HE TURN AROUND KISS' LUCK article came from. It's not sourced.

Also hilarious to see them with their usual nonsense of comparing stuff Casablanca did to others. Casablanca also shipped out 5M albums in one day and was flooded with millions in returns which pretty much bankrupted the company for their stupidity and excess.

Just remember when you see Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum on their tag-team "false claims" sessions... JUST IGNORE THEM!

HEY! Are you calling me Tweedle Dum or Tweedle Dee? Because I want to be DUM!!!

Speaking of dumb DoubleV...how smart would you say it is to reference an article, then tout that article and then after all is said and done actually admit that you do not know the source of said article?

The Casablanca reference was an analogy. Do you think the Ass Pimple knows what an A•NAL•O•GY is?

a·nal·o·gy [uh-nal-uh-jee] noun
1.a similarity between like features of two things, on which a comparison may be based: the analogy between the heart and a pump.
2.similarity or comparability: I see no analogy between your problem and mine.
3.Biology:
  • an analogous relationship.
4.Linguistics:
  • a.the process by which words or phrases are created or re-formed according to
existing patterns in the language, as when shoon was re-formed as shoes, when
is added to nouns like winter to form verbs, or when a child says foots for feet.
b.a form resulting from such a process.
5.Logic:
a form of reasoning in which one thing is inferred to be similar to another thing in a certain respect,
on the basis of the known similarity between the things in other respects.

well vv was married not single. He isn't that tall and he was 30 not 27 so doesn't say much for Dante back then. Most of that had to be some distorted press release sent over to kerrang.
Anyway I dont want to argue just pointing out its not the best idea to quote kerrang as fact unless you want to.

Who the heck knows what kind of cameo Paul could have done in '82 with the band still hiding under the makeup? Weird.

But wow, yes, 30 years ago it was All Systems Go for Vinnie touring with KISS, how exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is a funny link. the director of that movie Gary Marshall also directed Happy Days. VV must have known him and known about Paul in the movie.

!
That's really no different than Gene (supposedly) being offered the lead male role in Flashdance when the makeup was on.

Now granted, there had been enough pics out there of them without makeup on that it really didn't matter at that point.

But funny that no one yet has mentioned the VVI connection to Young Doctors. Yes, there was the Happy Days one...but also.....
