Re: KISS on Letterman
Kiss also performed a mini concert for the Letterman audience with a set list of Detroit Rock City, Dr. Love, Christine 16, Got To Choose, Strutter and ended the set with Lick it Up !!! Tommy is a very talented guitarist but he just mimic's Ace a bit to much for me. As for the new album "Monster" It's like painting the Titanic and then seeing if it floats !!! Very disappointing for their 20th album and Paul needs some tea & honey....

Not sure why mimicking Ace is a bad thing , it's a tip of the hat and Tommy does it best !
Re: KISS on Letterman
It's bad enough Tommy in Ace's makeup but to act just like him is F*cked up...Tommy's a great guitar player and I won't take that away from him !!! I understand that he is just doing what the Puppeteers tell him what to do or he may find himself unemployed !!!

Dude move on from the Tommy in Ace's make up, that be old now. If thats really the only thing bothering you you may want to seek professional help ! He obviously enjoys what the puppeteers demands or he wouldnt be there !

Got to admit that they sounded pretty good here. Paul sounded a lot better.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains!

PinkWiz, why try to defend others, I enjoy everybody else's opinions but yours so, maybe you should just defend your own !
Re: KISS on Letterman
hmmm, tellin' somebody that they "may want to seek professional help" because their opinion differs from yours is a weird way of "enjoying" their opinion.

Yes, it seems they were miming to a "live sounding" track. At least for the vocals.Streetbeat wrote:those vocals were re-recorded fyi

I posted a review of the MONSTER album on another thread. I don't think the album is terrible. There are a few things that are hard to get past:
- Tommy and Eric in the classic make-up is a travesty
- Sonically the album sounds a little thin
- Gene's weird, overpowering bass sound may sound good in some songs but is WAY out of place in others...like in Eric Singers ALL FOR THE LOVE OF ROCK AND ROLL
- There are more stinkers on the album than winners
But it kinda bugs me when I hear people completely dismissing an entire album. I'm not just saying THIS particular KISS album, but anything. Is life and everything in it so awful for you that you are unable to find some good in things? There's some good stuff on this KISS album. I'm not saying it's their best work, but c'mon...if BACK TO THE STONE AGE doesn't put a smile on your face, then I question whether you were ever really a KISS fan to begin with.
