When I listen to this rehearsal, I keep imagining them dressed like they were at the end of the Shandi video (street clothes and full makeup!)

Great find! I've never heard that rehersal concert before. That was a great time in my life and for the band. The story after this tour was sad for the band and me

I'm going to give this a listen on the way home from work today. I'm not holding out high hopes that it will be a "great show" because I think they were all screwed up in their own ways during the Dynasty tour. Peter and Ace were under the influence of different substances. But Gene and Paul were on huge ego trips at this point.

Interestingly, there's an interview with Gene and Ace on Wolfgang's Vault:

And Ace is surprisingly lucid in this interview, especially when you read and hear the stories about how F'd up Ace supposedly was. It's also weird because he and Gene project a real feeling of camaraderie during the interview. I think Gene and Paul look back on the original days with more cynicism and disillusionment than it really deserves. I'm sure that Ace and Peter were pains in the ass, but I'm feeling more and more that the transgressions have grown in their minds over the decades.

Listened to it.
Oddly enough, I don't think Peter was playing particularly worse than any of the rest of them. He had a couple of major Fuck Ups...but if you listen, so did each one of them, it's just that the drums are much more noticable. It's clear that Peter's agitated and angry and probably drunk.
