That's the artwork for the single? I thought it was some fan made thing. I didn't see it on Kissonline though, so I didn't realize it was official.

Poor styling, poor quality photo and poor obvious and uninspiring graphic design.

I am not expecting much from the album cover now. Kiss need to.get more of an edge back. They should look back.to.how they were.

Tommy's a great guy.
I've met him a few times and he's flat out a fun guy to chat with.
I wish he'd loosen up in the photo sessions.
Or is he told not to?

It's pretty in-line with the art they have been using on the site and other things for the last couple of years. Not surprised. Don't hate it. It's not terrible. Don't love it. It's not great.

Looks crap! Is it just me or is Gene sticking his tongue out so "meh" these days?

The whole giant, blue-black wig and "Gwar" costumes combined with easily apparent age and guts are just starting to make them look silly. It's a shame. It is such a cool, unique concept and they are determined to ride it into the ground regardless of the long-term damage it does to their reputation.

They are multi-multi-multi millionaires. They do not need KISS to continue for them to:
- make money
- create new music
- perform live concerts

They could go solo. They could take off the make-up again. They could start a "new" band. (Simmons/Stanley)
But no.

the stylist is all wrong. Got to be Barbara Streisands stylist imo.

They need to speak to Glen Danzig and get creepy again.

Yes! They used to be the band that parents feared. Now they make sure not to curse in concert and make baby-clothes.

Gene's problem is more isn't always better... he's already too big to keep piling on the armor.

Not sure how Gene manages to remain so "plump".
His armor is actually chrome plated plasic.
I know this because I touched it when I met him.
That didn't sound right....
Anyway, when he's onstage, you can see the sweat just pouring off his face.
The guy should be skinny!

1) He is old. When you get old, the body does not burn away fat as it once did. ...sigh...
2) He admits to having a problem with sweets. (Although if others have problems with anything he looks at it as a personal failing.)

Yeah, get that sweet addict out of the band, pronto!

I guess drugs and drink are a little more detrimental to functioning well in a band/life.

His big failing is not looking his best. He should get some help, it can be done, Rick Springfield looks great and they are about the same age.

I understand that Ace's drinking/drugging hurt himself AND the band.
I understand that Peter's attitude hurt himself AND the band.

However, Gene never takes any responsibility for anything HE did wrong. He KNEW that Ace & Peter had "delicate" personalities and easily bruised egos. Yet he still proceeded to refuse pay increases (although they could clearly afford to be generous) and refused to let them have songs on the Psycho Circus album (when they could've easily added more tracks and much of THEIR material was of questionable quality).

You take someone that has dependency issues and personality problems, you "insult" their contribution by denying what they feel is appropriate compensation, deny them creative input, replace them on the biggest album they've been involved with in years while forcing them to lie about their participation, force them to play songs they had nothing to do with...and then get upset when they fall back to their destructive habits to deal with a situation they are unhappy with but have no power to change?

Yes. I am saying that Gene & Paul effectively drove Ace & Peter back to their destructive habits and then tossed them by the wayside when they did. And Gene is always being praised for being a genius...

Dino will tells ya, Gene's no genius. The 80's proved that with Kiss not being massive anymore and all his side projects amounting to very little. It was embarrassing really.

I've posted this before, but this is a blog post I wrote a few years ago about how Gene and his business acumen is not all that great:

yeah. maybe he is better now, I don't know, but they trusted a lot of the wrong people in the 80s but I think its a similar story with most bands and people to be honest.

maybe his genius is that they never actually hit rock bottom, they always found away to bring the band back from the brink. I suppose when you have a brand its easy to be a genius. They took off the make up which saved them. They put it back on which saved them and now they just find any avenue to explore. There are not many bands that are as easy to promote as kiss. I can not help thinking a major hanna babara cartoon or super hero movie by a top director would have really taken things over the edge. They never quite pushed it all the way in my opinion (both in 70s and recent years).
I think they are kind of cheap in some respects. If they pushed say the Batman production team and a top screenwriter to do a dark cool kiss movie it would be great but I kind of feel they would opt of the 'B' move route and end up with something crappy. But I still see a big budget superhero movie as the only thing they could really explore and I would go for actors playing them rather than themselves.

Agreed. The Phantom of the Park should've been much better than it was, but as you said, they often go cheap at the wrong times and it has cost them.
I think a live action movie/musical could be cool, but I think the band members are far past their prime and might look a little ridiculous in Hi-Def and up close.

I think actors playing kiss may work. Have a cameo from thr band but that a team movie sucked so bad they need to.avoid that director and writer.

Do they always do the same pose?   Especially Gene. He always has his tongue sticking out and devil horns in the air--even if his music isn't really rocking. False advertisement!
