Haha. Ace said nice things about vinnie. Was even using back on the streets.. I don't think he thought about vinnie that much and I am certain he didn't do anything to diss vinnie.

I have my doubts it was anything other than Ace's sense of humor. Ace was pretty tired of having no say in KISS musical direction. It's hard to imagine he felt animosity toward Vinnie for stepping in. The more you think about Ace's personality, the more it seems like his off-the-wall shocking humor at play. Ace is very straightforward about his feelings. When he says good things about someone, he means it. From what I've heard, Vinnie and Ace share a mutual respect for one another.

As a fan, I love their guitar playing equally. It's impossible to choose between their styles. Ace has got that bluesy rock style influenced by Zep, and Vinnie is technical yet wild. I don't perceive Ace as having any insecurity issues about his place in rock history. He is just a big joker.
