KISS KRUISE - SETLISTS AND NEWS!

Post by EricFoxx »

From KISSFAQ:

"KISS today performed live and unplugged aboard the KISS Kruise. The set list featured a mix of KISS classics, songs that haven't been dusted off in a few years, and attempts at extreme rarities. The band hosted a Q&A following the performance, and Tommy Thayer alluded to rarities to be played in the electric set tomorrow.

Set List
Hotter Than Hell
Calling Dr. Love
Sure Know Something
Christine Sixteen
Do You Love Me?
Shandi
I Love It Loud
Forever
See You Tonite
Black Diamond
Hard Luck Woman (Paul Stanley lead vocals)
Beth (Eric Singer lead vocals)
Every Time I Look At You
Just A Boy/I/Mr. Blackwell (Partial songs performed as an "Elder medley")
Anything For My Baby/Two Timer (songs attempted then aborted)
C'Mon And Love Me
Rock And Roll All Nite"

Cool stuff! I'm looking forward to see the upcoming updates about the setlists during the other shows! :D

It turns out I know someone on board! I bumped into an old friend and he knows a drummer that played with us in the Kiss band back in 97. I called on him last year when I tried to resurrect the Kiss thing but he had given up playing drums, which was a bummer.

Anyhow, turns out him and his boss at the Telstra shop went on the Kruise!!! Crazy stuff, can't wait to talk to him when he comes back.

Most of the electric list is from '74-'75! It would have been cool if they did a set list which had one song from every studio album they ever released  with exception to Peter & Aces '78 solo albums...

I bet Eric and Tommy have alot to do with the set list being mainly 1974-75... they both are big fans of early KISS and I'm sure Paul and Gene listen to them as fans.

Last night, KISS took to the stage again, bringing another smashing set of KISS classics and favorites to their devoted fans on the KISS Kruise. Performing in a 1500-seat theater aboard the Destiny, there was no pyro, no bombs, and no fire... but the show was hotter than hell. With the band up close and in such an intimate space, fans enjoyed another memorable evening of music and fun, according to KISSonline.com.

Due to the capacity of the Destiny's Palladium theater, fans aboard the Kruise received a ticket to either Friday night's concert or Saturday's, with each concert simulcast on the ship's Lido Deck massive outdoor screen so fans had the opportunity to enjoy both shows.

Setlist:
'I Stole Your Love'
'Getaway'
'Room Service'
'Two Timer'
'Comin' Home'
'Strutter'
'Nothin' to Lose'
'Love Her All I Can'
'All The Way'
'She'
'Take Me'
'Goin' Blind'
'Parasite'
'Rock Bottom'
'C'mon and Love Me'
'Got to Choose'
'Lick it Up'
'Shout it Out Loud'
'Hard Luck Woman'
'Beth'
'Detroit Rock City'
'Rock And Roll All Nite'

I wore Vinnie's makeup to the show in Charlotte, NC last year and my wife was Eric (see avatar). We stood under Gene's side as he was going up on the lift and when he caught a glimpse of me he started shaking his head as if to say "oh no you didn't" but with a slight smirk! I just gave him the devil horns and he did it back to me (well the way Gene does it is more "I love you" instead of devil horns)... defintely a cool moment!

They played "Lick it up" in Sweden last summer, and as far as I can remember it sounded great!

Has anyone noticed that in recent pictures from this cruise that KISS seem to have added orange makeup around their eyes? I saw it the other day but thought I was going crazy, now I noticed it again. You can notice it especially on Gene and Paul. Just browse the front page of the main site and you will see.

Could this be a Halloween thing, like the look of the site?

Or a 20 year anniversary tribute to the passing of Eric Carr?

Or a totally unrelated thing... their makeup has changed in the past but never to this extent.

Or am I seeing things? What do you think?

So...

How much did Genie & Paulie charge their fans for being a part of this???

I distinctly remember Paul stating at the '95 convention / meet 'n greet that he never
was gonna be a part of bringing Kiss into the Vegas 'realm'...

Personally, that backline onstage on the cruize ship looks like a fuckin' card board box...

FOR ME, GENIE N PAULIE NEED TO BRING ACE 'N PETER BACK & THE ALIVE I STAGE SHOW OR KISS
WILL NEVER GET A DIME FROM ME AGAIN...

The rest of you should seriously think about not helping those two aging clowns reach billionaire status...

However...
People here want to bust Vinnie's ballz for looking to make money, but Kiss can rip people off all day long!!!
If the public would stop buying the crap Kiss dishes out, they would have to step it up.

Current/Present Kiss fans are delusional and make me embarrassed to be a once die hard Kiss fan.

hmmmm, didn't really notice anything... there are no real close-ups of them in makeup on the kruise. they probably just got lazy and didn't put the makeup close to their eyes (skin instead of orange makeup maybe?) if i'm missing something, then it could possibly be for halloween or carr's 20 year passing...

Eddie, I understand and agree that the prices for some things Kiss related are way high and seem crazy to me. This cruise wasn't cheap and getting a smashed Paul Stanley guitar after a show is a rip off price to me too.

There is a BIG difference in the way Kiss and Vinnie operate though. Kiss has some high prices for things but two things a different.

1. Someone is actually willing to pay the prices Kiss ask, so a sale is made.
2. Kiss actually deliver, on time, every time, on these high priced items.

Our poor warrior had a failed guitar launch where none were sold, and we would have liked to see at least one sale and delivery but none were forthcoming.

Even the much touted and state-of-the-art catalogs were a fizzle. Vinnie is big on promises but small on delivery so nobody plonked down the cash for even the catalog, which was overpriced in a way Kiss would never do. If there was a Kiss guitar catalog it would either be free or $5 postage to get a copy. And they would print and deliver them too.

It's yet to happen but if Vinnie ever did give us all a mild heart attack and release something again, anything, would he charge a regular CD price or would it be a super duper happy fun time collectors item with a sky high price?

How much will the new Kiss album Monster costs the fans?

So yes, I have better things to spend my money on than the thousands it cost to be on that cruise but a lot of people did put their money down and they got what they paid for. Vinnie didn't even leave the house to present his $9000+ guitars to the world.

Until Vinnie comes down from the clouds and puts his two feet back on the ground where his mere mortal fans also live there can be no comparison to the Kiss machine, no matter how you feel about their current stage or band members.

They are out there fulfilling a need and being professional about it. The same cannot unfortunately be said for Mr Cusano, our fallen ankh warrior.

Listen to the fans Vinnie. Nobody wants overpriced anything anymore, there will be no sales that way.

We all could have lost $50 on the state of the art guitar catalog earlier this year, that was a missed opportunity to flush money away.

We could have tried to send $4500 deposit on a guitar but it probably wouldn't have worked anyway.
