I thought Eric Carr played drums on this track with Simmons on production duties? I'm sure Paul & Ace were also involved... I haven't heard this album since the 90's!

quick look on wiki for this

1."I Love Sex (And Rock and Roll)" (Beech, Swenson, Stotts, Tolliver, Gene Simmons) - 3:49
2."It's My Life" (Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons) - 3:58
3."Priestess" (Beech, Romanelli, Swenson) - 3:27
4."Thief in the Night" (Gene Simmons, Weismann) - 3:47
5."Opus in Cm7" (Romanelli, Swenson) - 4:20
6."Ready to Rock" (Romanelli, Stotts) - 5:11
7."Bump 'N' Grind" (Beech, Swenson, Stotts, Tolliver) - 4:27
8."Legends Never Die" (Free, Michael, Mitchell, Simmons) - 4:25
9."Ain't None of Your Business" (Simmons, Eric Carr, Vinnie Vincent) - 3:27

Williams lost her trademark Mohawk during this album, opting instead to keep it more simple.
This was the first time Gene Simmons ever played outside of KISS, playing bass under the pseudonym "Reginald Van Helsing"
The main riff of "Legends Never Die" was originally from an unused song on KISS' own Creatures of the Night album.
Despite being called Wendy's solo debut, the bands official biography from their website states that the lack of a Plasmatics title is only superficial and is still an official Plasmatics album
Despite the band official biography, manager Rod Swenson was quoted in Kerrang magazine as stating "that it was Wendy's own LP" when responding to questions about the departure of Richie Stotts.
An analysis has been made that this should be considered a KISS album.[1], [2]
Cruisin' downtown, Shakin' her love, Is that babe talkin' to me, Felt my heart drop, Women can't stop, Girl has got me on my knees, Baby baby babe don't make me wonder, Won't you let me in, She said - see you later, Shot down, I'll be back again

the drums have to have been recorded during creatures. I would say it was fully recorded for Kiss and then they took off the vocals and added Wendy.

Weissmann is that Paul McCartney look a lile bass player. He's good actually.

is it just me or is that solo a mess?

its my life would have been a big kiss anthem had they used it. I wonder why they don't re-record it. A few other tunes they could have re-hashed also.

It sounds like someone is rocking a banjo during the "ritual slaying "part.

I hear some Vinnie licks in there yet it does seem like a cut and paste job. The solo has no flow so you are correct in my opinion.

Amen Uncle Kev! WoW's version not great! Crazy version slays it! The solo I don't think was punched-in in sections but it was..........loud!!!!!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Not punched in. It sounds spliced together.

I like this version better than the Crazy Nights'. Mostly because of the drum sound :D

As for the WOW album, i always thought than the guitar solo for Priestess was done by our man. Any opinions ?

I don't believe VV played guitar on WoW he certainly wasn't credited for it anyway... He just had the songwriting credit for "ain't none of your business" :D

It's cool how heavily involved Gene, Paul, Ace & Eric Carr were on this record! Gene did a great job... I liked what he did here...

Dino earlier stated that kiss must have recorded the Wow tracks for creatures of the night and just over dubbed her vocals... Looks like he was right :D it would have been near impossible for Eric Carr to recapture that creatures drum sound for WoW... It was too good to be true!

Excert from a Creatures of the Night article on kissfaq...

Another song demoed/recorded for the album was a rare, by this point, Stanley/Simmons collaboration called “It’s My Life.” This track dated from early in the “Elder” sessions with Paul having written at least the chorus at that time. Later he would give the song to Gene who wrote the rest of it, creating what could have been the band’s rock ‘n roll anthem for the 1980s. While the track was ultimately excluded from the album, the recording was later over-dubbed with Wendy O. William’s vocals and included on her Gene Simmons’ produced WOW album in 1984.
