Great photo!
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Somewhere I have a video of part of that interview as well, like a quick news update stating that Ace Frehley was replaced by Vinnie due to a car accident and slow healing.

5500 capacity . Bigger than most of the european lick it up venues which were mostly 3000 seaters. That said europe didnt have big venues back then outside of london and paris. Its different now. Because of basketball not being big like the states no need for big sports arenas.

it actually seats more than we all think...or sat cuz its gone LOL.

6,500 was the total number for an end stage show.......for wrestling it was almost 9,000 which makes no sense. but the way it was set up,it looked far larger if u were on stage in a band.

im guessing the reason kiss came here so many times was because it was an easy sell and when times got rough like for all bands in the 80's, they could have a "full house" and not have to sell many tickets to do so.

just kills me that i cant take a time machine and $100 and go back to 1983 for a creatures show....i'd love to have a whole roll of film from that show.

odd things to happen here involving kiss.....alive tour...they burned the ceiling with pyro...

it was the last show for all original members on the dynasty tour

i know theres more, but i'd have to ask around for people who were there.

AC/DC, ZZ Top...and other other acts were playing the venue in the 80's.

According to Billboard...for a Cameo/Grandmaster Flash concert there in Nov 1980 they had 7,673 people for a gate of $65,663.

i definitely wasnt around toledo then, but the place stood vacant til a few years ago. i've been to tons of shows there and in recent times they put seats in rather than have general admission which absolutely lets more people in the floor.

i know alot of big acts went to the sports arena then, it was a hot bed by all accounts. zz top was just here last month.

these days? toledo has changed...unless you're wearing nut huggers and singing about beer and horses and losing your wife, they wont book you at the new arena which is sad because i hate 'country' music

I don't hate country music. I don't believe what they call country today is really "country", it's pop music and that's fine by me too. I like both. I was raised in a small, coal mining/corn farming town in central illinois. There was LOTS of country music. I have a cousin that lives in Nashville and does the country music thing...tried to make it as a singer/songwriter but now just tries to sell his music.

I've never visted him in Nashville. My parents visit him at least once a year.

I spoke to my mother yesterday. My cousin isn't even pursuing the music writing thing anymore. He lives outside of nashville and has a small horse farm. (I knew about the farm, but thought he still tried to write...but I was wrong.)
