the origin of "Genesis" instrumental...

Post by Possio »

I finally cracked it..zapping round the TV channels this easter holiday, heard this in the background in one of the Bible-movies showing.
"Epilogue" is the one part with the most borrowed thenes/lines.

So,
"Genesis" is not an original composition, it is a reworked version of:
Miklós Rózsa - King of Kings (1974) - Ressurection and Epilogue

cool right!! I bet I´m one of the first to figure this out!? (exept for VV himself...haha)
Great version by VV by the way, love it..

I believe we have discussed this ? A few of us were aware.
I have always felt it was cool to hear where something was lifted from. I like the ornamentation that Vinnie added and how he extended the ideas BUT also have a weird taste in my mouth when proper credit isn't given. Of course it was never an official release BUT Vinnie HAD TO BE the person that initially released this on Youtube and could have very easily wrote it in the description.

I seriously think he doesnt have much ability to write music if he continously needs to borrow from other musicians. There was "On The Run", the anthrax song, and this......

I don't want to be the fly in the ointment, but really, name a musician that has stolen from another. You steal right from the being when you start to learn. You copy from your favourites.

Ya I think Gorge Harrison said everything that's gonna be played has been played, but I think even he might have had a issue with blatant copyright infringement. And what do you think Vinnie would do if some did this with his songs.

Everyone has to ask themselves, 'Have they ever download an MP3'.
If the answer is yes!, 'Glass Houses?, Throwing Rock? Anyone?'
Is that Technically Stealing?
Where does it stop. More to the question. Where does it begin.
We are all part of the problem. Watching 'most' things on Youtube could Technically be addressed as blatant copyright infringement, but yet we all do it.
The horse has bolted. Pandora's box has truly been opened on this matter.
