Get The Led Out - Different Mix

Post by erg2 »

I hadn't heard this version before. It's a little more raw, I think.

It gets clear as I find more and more and more variations of the GFH songs that Vinnie was just lost and second guessing himself. Mixing and mixing and changing and re-arranging and swopping out the drums for machine...until they are Frankenstein's Monster. The earlier, more raw versions were definitely more commercially viable, better overall mixes and (IMO) more likely to have garnered the kind of attention he was looking for.

I have listened to this version for years and I have always thought that I preferred this version over the one that he gave us on Euphoria.

The solo at the 3 minute mark is one of Vinnie's best solos of all time!

yeah the early versions are way better. Andre kicked ass. I still think elements of Andre are on the EP but not on Eurphoria or Get The lead out. I still can not believe Andre not only doesn't get a credit but he doesn't even get a thank you. VV would have sued from hell and back if that would have happened to him.

just listened. the solo is great. This version is so so much better than the euphoria one. Potentially this song is one of VV's best in my opinion.

Oh I like this version
If you see me fallen and endless fall
If you hear me calling a never ending call
If you see me bleeding I'm losing control
If you see me dying I'm dying alone.

The earlier, more raw version of Euphoria (that I got from this site) is better than the EP version.

He had good songs and good ideas...he just needed a producer to let him know when the songs were "done" and mixed them properly. It would've been an amazing hard-rock/shred album. Instead it's oddly mixed with a jarring Frankenstein's Monster patchwork quality.

I always thought this tune had a similar feel to Unholy... can almost hear one of Gene's signature "oh yeahEEE's" on it.

Maybe he had to re-record .. maybe enigma records owned the original , but that would not explain the fact they didn't change Roberts original recorded vocals.

Exactly. I think the leaked demos are versions Vinnie tinkered into the ground and the "final" Enigma versions have yet to all surface.

Maybe, but I'm just extrapolating based on the existence of the 2 raw song versions and then the multiple over-tweaked versions of different degrees. I would love to hear the entire GFH album more raw like this version of GET THE LED OUT and the alt version of EUPHORIA!

Did Kelly Pribble work on the album? (Sorry for my ignorance on the matter.)

Yeah...and is it GUITARS FROM HELL or is it GUITARMAGEDDON?
