1) Wow. They were playing that batshit crazy fast!! How did Vinnie pull that off?

2) I have read SO many interviews where Vinnie (& Mark St. John too) complained that Paul and Gene forced him to play like Ace. I gotta tell ya, I listen to all these bootlegs and I can't pick out a solo where Vinnie even comes close to playing like Ace did. Especially not to the extreme that Tommy does today.

Yeah, even Bruce didn't play like Ace, but he also kept it along the lines of the original solo, just "updated".

Only Tommy is doing it pretty much note for note as is the Kiss way today.

They did play fast back then too didn't they!

By the sound of Pauls chipmunk voice Id say these recordings are sped up a bit.

But yes they did speed up the songs back then.

My guess is the "speed up" probably has more to do with the recording equipment and the age of the tapes...but yes, it does sound slightly sped up. But even with that, HOLY SHIT was that played fast!

Bruce was the only guy to never complain about being told what to play too...publicly that is.

yep, sped up a "half tone" E sounds like Esharp, but yes, I don´t think they ever played
the songs as fast again as with V (82-84). slowest and sluggiest I ever heard it was in 1996.
