There are stories of Paul & Vinnie getting into screaming matches during LIU tour... These extended solos & upstaging G & P were common occurrences... Three huge egos in KIZZ wasn't cutting it for the Demon & Starchild...

Where is the video of that one?....Paul and Gene had it rough back then. The same thing happened with Peter during the Dynasty tour, as he was playing like crap and even sabotaged a show or two with his drumming.

I love watching videos from the LIU-tour! Vinnie's wild performance where the three of them really competed about the attention on stage is amazing to watch. Huge difference from watching Ace and Bruce on stage.

Vinnie demanded and received the attention he deserved. He seemed to be getting some good accolades . Paul and Gene didn't want to be upstaged since Kiss had transformed into the Gene and Paul show. Remember, This was the first tour that got any real publicity since Ace and Peter left the scene. Why else would they not allow Vinnie to have his signature model while he was in Kiss ???

Hate to be the stick in the mud. But Gene and Paul weren't pissed in that Quebec show footage. I saw this tour and have that Vid. It was a loosely scripted part of the show that they did frequently during "Young and Wasted". Gene and Paul were pissed at Vinnie plenty I am sure, but sorry this wasn't one of those times.

Yes, I didn't see them losing their cool there. It looked like Paul took a playful jab at Vinnie. It also looked like Paul and Gene may have discussed Vinnie's supposed overplaying beforehand and had a little INSIDE joke.

I thought Vinnie played perfectly.

Hi Rick, Yes if you watch the footage closely Paul Actually smirks at Gene and Gene points to Vinnie to cue him after one of parts. A "call and response" sort of thing. This was completely planned. I agree on Vinnie playing.

The first time I saw it, I thought it was "staged" but then as everyone discussed I assumed I had read the situation way wrong.
Now I don't know what to think...

The call and response was staged . I believe Gene and Paul had talked and joked in private of Vinnie's noodling. I don't think Paul joining in was planned . I believe Paul took a cheap shot at Vinnie and had a little laugh with Gene about it.

I believe that Vinnie DID take things like this personally and it eventually lead to fights that lead to him not being in Kiss.

I agree with Rick & Freddy. Looks as Paul took a cheap shot at VV. & Gene & Paul had spoken about the VV behind his back. VV did a great job & I believe that Gene was supportive of the call & answer part of the show, but was caught in the middle of it as Paul had his nickers in a knot over VV shining to bright. I would have been pissed too if I was VV. VV did a great job. The audience is totally into it & that's all that matters.

AMEN. Paul can be a prissy bitch. When I was younger, he was my favorite member of Kiss until Vinnie came along .
Paul's self esteem issues are annoying.

Yeah Gene could very well be patronizing Paul here as he's making fun of Vinnie. I agree that Paul's lack of confidence covered up with false bravado gets annoying.
