wow, great pics! never knew vinnie's natural hair color was almost dirty blonde... looks great with that natural look. hell, throw a little black hair dye in his natural hair and it would look close to that wig.

Dana loved that white bass, used it so much.

The Carvin looks to have the Kahler Bass Trem on it.

Yeah, they did a Bass trem as well as their design made it easy. I think the guy from The Cars was advertising them back then.

Whats scary is that he was 36 in those pictures a year younger than I am now.
He hardly did anything since he was 36. In fact vv was only really active in public eye in his 30s.

I don't believe Dana's Arbor bass had a trem on it ?.... I think the light blue thing is the colored jack plug... unless someone is seeing something I am not. Okay, yeah the purple Carvin.... sorry misunderstood, i'll shut up now...

WOW! so all the claims about what airplay was doing, how often videos aired, magazine coverage, promotions for album etc...... whose friends listened to VVI...that was coming from someone who was 11 when VVI came out??!

Unfreakin Believable!!!

Instead of telling everyone about VVI from back then--would have been better to tell what was happening in elementary school back then.

Had to go back and log in and edit after I realized switched the year older with younger..

No not 9 when vvi came out. 13 when asg came out. And I was a huge kiss fan at 9 believe it or not.
My dad was in music industry between london and new york and took me with him on holidays .
15 when slaughter came out and I can tell you no one knew vvi back then.

I realized it almost immediately after I had logged off. I went back and thought about what I had read. It wasn't the math... it was my confusing the older with younger in my mind. I thought he was 35 now instead of 37.

But 11 when VVI came out. I can imagine not many of his friends liked it. =)

Well Slayer.... That is the one it is trying to emulate, except everything about it is wrong and the workmanship is, well, you know !!! LOL... Sorry, did I say that out loud ? It is truly one of the biggest things that has irritated the living crap outta me over the years, if someone is trying to replicate one (professionally) then why not build it right ? I understand all the reason for why not, but for god sake take some pride in your work, take some time to research the instrument and study the thing to a point where you know it inside and out... sheesh .... okay , I am done ranting now.

Oh oooooooooh, Fred is talking about Monster Guitars now! :-) :-) :-) (I can't have 4 smiles in a row) :-)

I really wasn't trying to get you to go there for the record as I have always respected where you were at and where you were coming from on the topic.

Do you feel comfortable sharing what you paid TJ for the guitar? Yours is a neck through right?

Cool pics

Two things I learned from this thread...Bobby Rock's thighs are freakin HUGE (well I guess I knew that already if I thought about it but see these pics reminded me) and the lengths BS will go to think he/she has won an argument are something I've never seen on these here internets.

I know you weren't my brother... it's all good.
Sure Kev I can talk about it, it was used of course, as you know. He wanted 1000 for the guitar and said he would ship it to me.
I counter offered, by telling him, because it had no case, that I would be willing to give him
800 for the guitar and I would drive out to meet him and get the guitar from him. He agreed.
Personally going out to pick up the guitar, gave me the opportunity to inspect it 1st hand
before completing the transaction. Although the guitar had many flaws, (it wasn't built for me)
I felt at the time that it was a decent working start. He said he was in a rush to sell the guitar
because he had to get to Florida, as his band was ready to break it big  . He asked for half
to hold the guitar.. I mailed him a check for half, with a set of strings and some set up instructions
then drove out about 8 days later to meet him. I don't believe he ever made it to Florida and within a
week or 2 he wasn't in the band any longer. Don't know the full story there.

Yes, it is a neck thru , a Cavin neck. To my knowledge all of his necks have either been from Carvin
or Mighty Might. I don't believe he has ever had the capability to make a neck from a scratch blank.
But that is my educated opinion and not a fact. ( I am sure someone will misread that or miss that
disclaimer altogether) :D :D :D :D (because I can use 4 smiley faces in a row) LOL !

To Clarify , when I met Thomas... I just looked over the guitar, but I kept my critiques of it to myself.
I always wondered if he thought that I didn't notice or know any better. No big deal, just a thought.
