Here is an interview with Rik Fox

Post by metatron »

Here is an interview with Rik Fox of WASP / Steeler / Sin / Surgical Steel / Thunderball, ‘Fame’. Rik seems to have the ablity to walked on water & pretty much invented the whole heavy metal genre. (read, You'll c want I mean). Just drops to many names for my liking. Anyways. Dic (sucks) Cox's main gripe with Vinnie & VVI are in Part 2 & Part 3 of the interviews. It's not like I don't believe that some of this an't true, but what I have heard is that Ric didn't ever play on the Steeler. Heard Ron Keel re-did his bass parts.

My God, that guy can clearly talk underwater with a mouth full of marbles!

And the name dropping! It was so hard to read with all the name dropping and going off on tangents.

He has a point about the song though.

i think that 'let freedom rock' ashes to ashes' and 'ya know i'm pretty shot' all have some direct influences or copying going on. The intro to Ashes was taken directly from a project Dana was working. Why they would need to rip off anything for let freedom rock is beyond me, unless they were in a real hurry to write tunes.

funny as Fred Coury was inline to join VVI at one stage.

I've seen worse examples...its not a rip off really. Maybe the Let Freedom Rock intro. And Ashes to Ashes riff is very similar to Immigrant Song. The whole song is very Led Zeppelinish...which even Bobby has stated.

Rik Fox had more than a few shots at fame. I don't feel sorry for him.
