Great as usual! Genius.
Promises made, crying in vain, all empty. Never accepting the blame and not letting go of the shame. A river of tears, as months turn to years, all wasted. On someone not willing to change. Now only a shadow remains! :(

Well, it's made with my pink '86 soloist with a sustainer going through a compressor and a distortion.

A good Floyd is necessary here

I used A min penta/Cmajor scale essentially. First I wanted to play Robert's notes (A min penta), then I only kept a few of them.

A pattern that's been used a lot here is close to what Vinnie shows at 18.10 on the REH video, but in C major

I use chickenpicking with my second and my third finger , and my pinky too (Vinnie didn't use his pinky for chicken picking, he essentially used his second finger and sometimes the third, as he says in the video). The thing to do is that pulse rythm, putting 6 notes into a beat for example. Sometimes it gets sloppy, but that's part of the style, bringing something wild to it.

Onefinger did a nice job on the different breaks, so it was cool to put some dives or other noises there.

I've been studying Vinnie's REH video for almost two years, and I still find it very inspiring. Vinnie tells a lot about his secrets about his style in that video, which really is something unique, considering how private he's been living the past 20 years. That video is gold, even though the things VV shows are not always very clear. I've noticed sometimes I got a pattern/lick wrong, and it led me to something totally new and original. that's what I love about this vid!

Vv said nice things on dv forum and also mentioned him before but then onefinger like everyone got banned from vinnies forum being told he was a spy as far as I remember
