Has Vinnie stopped playing guitar?

This point appears sometimes in some posts.
In an 80's interview, I think I read he was talking about stopping music if he didn't get something I don't remember. I read about his country style compositions he tried to sell years ago, but is he still practising? If not, the other question is when did he stop playing? After the 90's bankruptcy? After all those years, what could he still play and how?

I think a few times he mentioned talking of quiting playing altogether. From memory he said after he left kiss he thought about.
I will say he is extremely effected by fans comments and if he doesn't have any demand for his products which I suspect stop him from playing. It seems like unless everything is in order with him he doesn't play.

As for releasin his long awaited archives I believe they are all shoved in rooms and a nightmare to sort out. Most things not digitised and guitarmageddon not completed so I think he will not be able to get it together unless someone takes it over he trusts which I guess is no one. I thought his daughters maybe the people to do it but now I am not so sure they would get involved.

I believe he still plays but rarely. Probably plays to his animals still, too :p

He my have put down the guitar when it comes to his fans but Im sure he still enjoys playing it in private. IMO.

He is still pickin' and grinnin'.
You simply DO NOT stop because of fans or money.
Vinnie has too much care and love in his heart to not use music as an outlet of his emotions.
The man still has fire and passion although IT SEEMS as if they are misguided.
Music starts as a selfish thing. You do it for yourself. Making music is very therapeutic.
If others enjoy it, GREAT, but the only thing that matters is that the maker enjoys the process and result.

I'm going to respectfully disagree here. I wouldn't be surprised if he occasionally played but if the passion and fire were truly there he would make music, it would be heard or it would be seen. Evidence has been suggested over the years that most of Vinnie's time has been spent surfing the internet. The amount of time that has been suggested that he partakes in this wouldn't leave much time for the creation of much musical magic. If he still played he wouldn't consider selling ALL of his signature guitars for the right price because those axes would be needed by him. Of course it could certainly be argued that he really doesn't want to sell those prized guitars in light of his asking price for them

I can’t help thinking about Arthur Rimbaud, the french poet that stopped writing poetry at 21. Before that poetry was everything to him, then he got completely disinterested of it, considering poetry as a childish game. That brutal stop is one of the factors that made him a legend.
Vinnie has become a legend. I have the feeling he has stopped practising, but on the other hand, I can’t believe how such a great musician can quit. Maybe he plays his crazy notes in his head only ? Not even for his cat and his dog, what a shame !

No offense to the older men here...but I'd assume with VV's age, he has a difficult time getting it up, if he can at all. Not saying all older men develop a permanent limp schlong but VV is 62...he's getting up there. Poor guy.

Maybe if he got some REAL stimulation, it would help instead of internet crap

Be prepared to have 2 popsicle sticks and a few rubber brands handy because at his stage of the game he is going to need a "Dick Splint". Your pretty cute though so maybe you can work some magic and create a happy ending before passing out from exhaustion from all the work of it

He never replaced that broken string on a guitar he recorded so much with... That's some kind of a serious proof he doesn't care about guitar playing anymore.

It says that there are 6 strings on the guitar. 5 of them are from the 1980's.

Yes, but also the picture shows a broken string (B-string if I remember it well), broken and not replaced. The fact that he hasn't changed those strings since the Euphoria sessions (1990-91?) isn't a good sign too.

On the video from the guitars from hell sessions he was using the Washburn. However many have said his carvin was his favourite.
