Vinnies' best solos

Post by Detroit »

I'll start with this: Invincible. Almost perfect. ShreddiNg, melodies, harmonied, volume knob techniques etc

Yeah agreed. I feel the solo morphed out of the extended ashes to ashes solo.

Do Ya Wann Make Love! Melodic tapping, shredding, melodic whammy bar passages that build to a nice climax! :)

The first one that always comes to my mind----

I will just say that the one solo that gets me through my work day, the one that I play in my head the most, the one where he displays melody and shred and stays within 8 bars...

Was a toss up for me with No Substutute, Rick. What you said is 100% correct.

Invincible is a great show case solo, and almost stays in the melody .. I do like his solos that stay in context with the song better as a whole but as a stand alone solo Invincible is the best solo in MHO.

All the above solos are great. "Do you wanna make love" is a fun solo for sure. I really like the soloing in the song "Invasion" it's soaring in my opinion. I know it's alot of notes, but the phrasing and grouping of notes together that form the phrases are fantastic IMO. I also like the 2nd solo in "Full Shred" (the Euphoria Ep version)

LOVE GUN at the L.I.U. tour! He just made an ACE trademark solo his own trademark. unbelievable! Fuck shredding (yes, I know, he's one of the best shredders...)!

Listen to his shredding at Love Gun at the Creatures Tour, fuck that, what a shame!

At the L.I.U. tour Vinnie showed, that he is a COMPOSER, not only a shredder... shredding is so simple...
And on the 8th day god created rock'n roll!

Yeah invasion and outro solo on full shred are amazing. Invasion is a forgotten epic masterpiece and so original.

yeah robert and vinnie. Too bad Vinnie didn't do what he originally said to Robert and had a band that included Robert. The treatment of Robert was the start of the end for Vinnie. They couldn't even put out Back on the streets or no substitute as a single because the way Robert was treated. After spending all that money on the 1st record and tour it was a crime not to release those two tracks.

Vinnie says it was label but vinnie told Robert when they made first demos just after VV left Kiss it was a band thing. VV got deal on back of Roberts singing and then VV treated him as a hired hand. It was all Vinnie as the label wanted Robert. His manager fucked up big time but still Robert should have been in from the start!!!

lots of great solos from vinnie.

the one on 'dr. love' at rio was also great.

and, even though it's not 'finished', my favorite is probably the entire 'wild child' track from beginning to end.
