Vinnie songs / soundcheck

Post by poserboy71 »

What Vinnie songs do you guys start playing when you pick up your guitars to check your tuning and /or amp sound?

I usually have to play "Heavy Pettin' "and "Let Freedom Rock" for dirty sounds and "That Time Of Year " for a clean sound. Funny thing considering that I prefer the first album.

I only know bits of songs. I love the Shoot U Full Of Love riff, so I play that a bit.

I have to refresh a few of the ASG ballad solos, they are doable mostly and the Boyz riff!!!

Ditto. Actually, we'd play Freedom when we wanted to finish up rehersal.

My alltime favorite is Boyz are gonna rock. I play it to warm up - I LOVE THIS KILLER SONG!

For vocal warm ups I usually go through my tracks, and then some Duran Duran, then some Bulletboys, then for the really high stuff I work on That Time Of Year for the high A that Mark does right at the end there. I warm up with Animal for guitar ;D

Funny that you should mention a Slaughter tune, because I honestly soundcheck to Up All Night moreso than any Vinnie tune. And I can't actually hit that high A that Mark does, because Mark does it full voice. Mark Slaughter is not human, but that probably explains why he can't sing anymore.

Mark's lost his voice? How bad is it? I haven't kept up with Slaughter goings on.

D'OH! I meant Breakout as our finish song!

Go to Youtube and put in Mark Slaughter live 2009 or 2010 to see how bad he roached his voice. It is sad. He should go to Tom Keifer's (Cinderella) doctor before it's too late.
