Hmmm,
It's so strange that KISS was never heavier / catchier / tighter sounding in their careers as when Vinnie was around.
Is It Just A Coincidence?
No, I don't think so.
VINCENT + CARR ~~~ helps ~~~ Chaim + Eisen = Cool.

You have to look at the time period. Kiss had just come off The Elder and wanted to re-instate themselves with the next album, which Creatures did.
The tour was not huge so a change was needed as Kiss were plodding dinosaurs compared to the new bands of the 80's, so with LIU they streamlined the look and were happy to pursue the metal music of the 80's, to compete with the other bands.
I'm not sure how things would have gone had Ace stuck around as it wasn't his forte. You have to remember these were lean years even for the likes of AC/DC, who just sort of kept going until now where they just to the biggest tours ever.
Vinnie made Kiss an excellent metal band, songwriting and playing wise. Paul sung his ass off on LIU, it was excellent.
