i say a really good buzz and PR stunt would be to start 01 serial number as a $1 bid on ebay and see how far it goes.. that would create a buzz all over the internet and also give them a good idea on how much people will pay for one. Give it a 9 day auction and start it at a buck.

anyway we will see.

I am attending the NAMM Anaheim 2011 show. I trust Vinnie will be there. He has nothing to lose and all to gain.

at the store we have these black flammed top anniversary Dean mls on the wall , we dropped the price because they are discontinued to $599 usd they been there 2 or three years, neck through kinda cool but dude NO ONE wants it. its a hard sell even with dime bag's name pushing those things.

and dime has has way more success as a dead guitarist and a innovator than ever his name is every where.

even lynch's guitars dont sell like they used to.

if Cusano sells a few good luck to him but really his best bet is to make an import for around 900 and maybe sell a few to the kids and fans who can afford it ( if he promotes it right) but hey what do i know ?? i could be wrong...

but id never pay 2,000 bux for a guitar i never played or know nothing bout.

actully dino i can have them make that guitar no problem cost would be aound 600 plus shipping and course doinga small run off would be more exspensive but very easliy can be done .. i have talked to those factories before

but some on has to be quality control thats the key. any foriegn plant can make a killer guitar if your willing to pay for it and make sure its right. i have guitars from china that are smoking . korean guitars have also come along ways.. japan is now almost better than usa factories. esp is kicking gibson and fenders' asses

so as long as you take the time to show them whats right they can do it. of course ima fan of american hand made customs ( its just what i like) im sure we all like hand made custom guitars , but just for conversation i had to bring up some good points thats all.

i like think the esp eclipse is a far better bang for your buck than a new lespaul.. just from what i feel when i play it.

cool. i get that, but I am a little political on this and feel an american company should make in america.. japan should make in japan and china in china.. i shouldn't get into politics, but i think half of what is killing usa/europe is all the industry and jobs that went to China and India. i am not say the guy buying is wrong, i just think jobs should some how have to stay in the country.

It will be interesting to see what happens with this guitar. As many of you have pointed out, it will be a tough sell especially if the price is too high.....from an unknown builder and company nonetheless. Maybe Vinnie will come out of hiding if it works well? Less than a week until we find out more goodies regarding the details.

i agree with you double v i just ment as far as quality.. yea u think your right esp should be made in japan and thats it... and epiphone and gibson should be USA . im totally on your side on that i'm just simply pointing out whatr we are charging for and what your actually getting vs. say esp... its a shame really that esp can kick our ass but they can (as far as price points and quailty ratio)

yes, i understand. i am just talking about jobs and keeping them in country etc.. but things have changed so much. i suppose Guitarmageddon only employs 2 people anyway so its not like they are going to put people out of work if they go overseas. I also realise asia is making some amazing cheap guitars that the regular guy can afford.

The biggest worry is that if things like the catalog are not ready now, when will they be?

This could become a long, drawn out process to get anything for your money.

They have had a lot of time to have things in order so there are alarm bells ringing. People sent checks in the past, it doesn't sound like the thing to do does it people?

I am looking forward to pics and reports as to what IS there none the less.

Sammy would have done it and he would have had an awesome site. Remember vv has no team do doing this stuff will take time. It seems like we have to not expect a real guitar company. The main thing is they will not be taken seriously they only advertise on YouTube. I suppose the only bonus is we know everything is getting vvs personal attention. They have to have a YouTube demo . Maybe they can film a guitar player playing at namm and put it on YouTube. Vinnie is going to have to list the specs somewhere too including what pick ups etc.
I really can not believe tom is not online promoting these guitars.we should have pictures today anyway.

you know, maybe there will be the brochures there at NAMM , and they might even be free to truly interested clientele. And maybe they dont plan on being back to the office from NAMM in full force until the following weekend so thats why they said the 22nd?? Probably just my wishful thinking...

Since the beginning of the guitar announcement (on the old board) I stated Im going to buy one of these guitars. Hell, maybe even two!

But I ordering tru an unknown source and paying with money order or check wihtout any buyersprotection, is asking for trouble. We all know the debacle of the VV boxset. During the 1996 VV Euro convention tour I paid membership fee to become a member of his new fanclub. Never heard again from them hahah. I knew that already when paying for the membership. It doenst matter too much because I got a nice signed color pic and promotional info about the forthcoming Guitarmageddon cd.

Anyways, I only will buy this guitar when knowing for sure I actually will receive the damn thing ... I dont hold my breath on it...

If I decide to buy one than I certainly not going to buy tru mail because of import duties and high shipping cost. Hopefully there will be a distribution deal to Europe or something like that. Otherwise Ill ask someone to buy it for me and Ill pick it up myself from the US. I will figure something out to get it here... but Im cetrainly not going to pay more than USD 5.000. I don't think thats worth it....

What Dino is trying to tell you is that Vinnie's initial intentions where to price it like this:

Guitar (no case) - 8000
Guitar for overseas orders (no case) - 12000

Yes, the case was not included in those crazy prices and yes, there is some sort of stupid reason he thinks someone should be charged an extra 4000 PLUS postage and PLUS case if you want it overseas.

Whatever happened to, the guitar costs this much plus postage where ever you are. And what high end, expensive guitar doesn't come with a case in the price? Do they even have nice custom cases for these things? How much are these cases if they do?

Hopefully we'll find out what the pricing is in 2011, as it may have changed (hopefully) and info on the cases etc.

wow, is carvin expensive now. I have the double neck that VV had (not the same one) and I had an ultra V. I hope to put that double neck on ebay in april. I was thinking it may get $600 to $900 but I have no idea. The last guitar I sold on ebay got $2300 and I had an offer of 3k to end it early.

This is really good news.

All credit to Vinnie and his 'few' for getting his guitars out there. I sincerely hope he achieves his goals (though not at the expense of others) and that his fans will be a part of, and benefit from them, whatever they are.

I don't really understand what he is doing, perhaps some kind of legacy?

I'm really happy for him yet sad for me. All of us have wanted an official VV guitar for the longest time.
What other option do we have but to go with a more affordable copy ?
Most of us have children, ex-wives, house payments, etc...
